bedplate adds rigidity to the block.

bedplate and head.
Not surprisingly it is a
bedplate design with through-bolt construction, Nikasil-coated cylinder bores and separate head and block cooling circuits.

As is common in the horizontal wind turbines, the ring gear would be connected to the
bedplate, and the planet carrier would be connected to the rotor hub, while the sun gear would be connected to the output shaft, which is connected to the next stage.
