Inland Revenue Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday seized the bank account of National Saving Centre Mirpur on the charges of alleged financial mismanagement in payment of withholding tax amount of about Rs65 million for the period of last three years, official sources said.
The incumbent chairman Jehanzeb Khan was transferred for his failure to improve the efficiency of field formations of
Inland Revenue Service to expand the tax base and achieve the tax collection targets.
MIRPUR -- Azad Jammu Kashmir achieved major breakthrough in the tax-realization history of the State after the State Department of
Inland Revenue successfully achieved the target of the income tax collection during the first three quarters of current fiscal year, official sources said.
Cases to be treated by the Tribunal include; Alind Nigeria Limited vs Federal
Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) slated for hearing, a motion for change of Counsel in Federal
Inland Revenue Service vs Dureja Enterprises Hotel and another motion in a case between Federal
Inland Revenue Service and Abbass Mohammed trading under the name and style of Focus Guest Inn.
Meanwhile, the federal government on Monday also notified powers and functions of the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation of
Inland Revenue Services.
