Patricia Poblete Alday, de la Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano [UAHC] de Chile, se plantea por que precisamente en los ultimos anos los autores encuentran en la cronica un cauce para devolverle al periodismo la calidad que se merece y encuentra cuatro fenomenos que estan contribuyendo a este auge: la creacion de organismos e instituciones destinados a promover el ejercicio confluente del periodismo y la literatura; el aumento de publicaciones especializadas; la circulacion de documentos que funcionan como manifiestos y textos fundacionales; y la instauracion de premios, que operan como instancias consagratorias.
