Staffordshire theme park Drayton Manor has announced a new, nautical-themed area that includes a host of new improvements and attractions for 2021.
A new addition to the Tamworth-based park, the new Adventure Cove area will offer a bright and colourful coastal feel for rollercoaster fans and families, with barrels, boats and steering wheels aplenty.
Another of many attractions to be announced in the park is the new River Rapids ride. The young - and young at heart - will be taken on a journey through a cartoon-style fishing port on their very own nine-person boat around a rapids course, past vibrant painted shacks and seafarers.
Family favourites such as Shockwave have also been painted in a vibrant rainbow of colours.
A lighthouse rescue mission awaits guests on white-knuckle ride Stormforce 10.
The new Adventure Cove area is set to open in stages from spring 2021, with more attractions to be announced in due course.
The addition is the first investment phase of new owner Looping Group.
William Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor Park, said: “We are so excited to welcome visitors back to the park, and introduce them to Adventure Cove this summer.
“We've been busy behind the scenes while the park has been closed, and we’re really pleased with how the new area is looking already and can’t wait to see it finished.
"We are working closely with our local contractors and are hugely grateful to both them and the support of Looping Group for this new development.
"It's especially exciting for us to the be able to launch the new Adventure Cove area, along with number of new rides and attractions for families and coaster fans alike.
"We look forward to welcoming guests back to enjoy a summer of fun and seafaring adventures at Drayton Manor Park."
Drayton Manor Park will be officially re-opening on April 12 and tickets are available on its website.
