OJT 2012 FINAL REPORT After the 2nd Semester of the School Year 2011- 2012 comes the summer OJT or the On The Job Training OJT, we are instructed to find an Architectural, Interior design firm and a Furniture Manufacturing Company to have our OJT. We need to complete 200 hundred working hours as Intern for the aforementioned types of companies, we need to do what these companies do in real life for us to experience the field we will be working on when we graduate. I experience a lot of things in this OJT program, It was like doing the real thing, Like we, on ourselves are the one who will find companies for our work, for my OJT, I first got the Architectural Firm which is the Transformation Design Inc. in Balintawak, Quezon City,. My mentor in this company is Arch. Ronald Allan Ko. For this Firm, I work for the Peter Chua Residence Project, I was instructed to do the Interior Design for the 3rd floor of the Residential space, the 1st and 2nd floor was renovated into storage for their business, The Client wants a Zen design for their house, the space includes the foyer, the living area, Kitchen and Dining, and 2 bedrooms, they also want a space for mahjong area where they can play with their friends, I designed the spaces with the timeless Zen design style, which will suite for the taste of of the client. For this OJT, Arch. Allan Ko taught us to have a design not only aesthetical but also functional. During my OJT in this firm, I encountered some of the problems the companies dealing with in this field of work, which taught me of many things. After I Finished my architectural hours in Transformation Design Inc., I had my Interior Design Hours in AGC Design Concepts in Congressional Ave. Quezon City, which was owned by Arch. Alex G. Co., My mentor for this firm was Sir Benedict Dioneda which was the Senior

interior designer of the firm, Sir Christian Ibanez and Idr. Mary Rose Madriaga, it was easy to work in this firm because most of their I.Ds were also from PUP, so it was not difficult to work, my first project in this firm was the den area for Ace Barreto Residences, it is a Den area which was made into a bedroom for the grandparents of the client. The Interior was made using the SketchUp to have it 3D. After that project, I was assigned to work for the Kitchen working drawing for the Violago Residences, I did the Dirty and the Clean Kitchen for that project, it took me long hours to finish that project, I learned a lot in this project in terms of kitchen detailing. While working with this project we are assigned to do some other 3D projects on the side, I was assigned to do the Presidents Office for the Patrick tan Project, for this Project Client wants a Modern Design for their office with simple elements, Sir Christian supervised me in this project. After the Presidents Office I did also the Managerial Office of the same Project, I continue the Violago Project after the Patrick Tan Project. Other Projects I did in this firm were, the Boys Bedroom for Larry Fernando, And also a Stair Details for the Ace Olano Project, I was also instructed to do some of the colored plans for the Palm Ville subdivisions project, AGC employees are easy to work with. They have a light way of working with their jobs. When I finished my Interior Design Hours, I had my last Company which is the Masterpiece Furniture and Interiors by Simbulan in LRI design Plaza in N. Garcia street BelAir II in Makati City. My mentor in this company is my fellow Classmate Aldwin Penafiel a Junior Interior designer of the company and Ms Charmie Cabrera. My first project in this company was the Litz Toribio condo unit, in this project, I was instructed to do a Furniture Proposal, Price quotations and a perspective, Aldwin taught me how to do price quotations and how the flow of work will be done in this project, After I finished this Project, I did the Furniture Schedule of the same project and design proposal for the built-in furniture, when I finished the project, I was Instructed to do a CAD for Honey Almendra Double Deck bed. I had a visit in the plant site of the Simbulan Industries in Baliuag, Bulacan where the furniture were manufactured. I had

a tour on their plant, it has step by step process, the first process is in the Milling section where the woods and other materials to be used for furniture are being prepared, the next process is the Assembly section, in this section furniture are now being assembled, all of the parts and other accessories of the furniture were putted together. After the furniture is assembled it will now go to the finishing section which has three steps, the first finish the second and the final finishing. Other section of the factory is where the furniture are being cushioned like sofa, and cushioned chairs. While I was in the plant site, I was assigned to pick fabrics that will be used in bed runners; we also check lists of furniture before it was delivered. After the visit to the plant site, we head back to the office and was assigned again for another project. This time it was for the renovation of the R. G. Simbulan Office, I was instructed to design the break area with conference area of the said office. I was also instructed to design a photo wall for one of its wall for accent. That was my experience for the whole OJT program; this subject helps me in a lot of aspects in my study for the past years, it help me gain experience, be familiarize in the design field, helps me to be ready for getting a good job in the future.
