1. SHOULD TABLETS REPLACE TEXTBOOKS IN K-12 SCHOOLS?

- As technology expands into schools, one debate you see in the news is whether
students should use tablets instead of textbooks. A school’s funding is at the forefront of
the discussion as to whether investing in tablets will decrease the amount of spending
on books and other classroom materials.
Now, here are the 8 pros and cons of replacing textbooks to tablets. But I will just give you 5
of them because it will take too much time to state all of those.

PROS
1. Tablets enrich classroom education;
2. Tablets decrease the amount of paper, saving the schools money on supplies;
3. Tablets enable teachers to effectively adjust and personalize student learning;
4. Tablets are lighter and are easier to carry than a ton of books;
5. Tablets contain features that textbooks don’t.
CONS
1. Tablets are distracting;
2. The production of tablets is harmful to the environment and to human health;
3. Teachers must spend time studying a tablet’s capabilities and how they can use it;
4. Tablets are more likely to be lost, damaged, or stolen;
5. Tablets require Wi-Fi and stable internet, which not all students have at home.

To conclude my argument, should tablets replace textbooks? The answer depends on the
school. As I mentioned earlier, students have different learning styles and paces, so not every
student can do great with a tablet.
2. SHOULD ABORTION BE LEGAL?
- For me, abortion should not be legalized. What our country should implement is strict
implementation of family planning. Abortion is like also killing. Those babies have
nothing to do from what their parents did. Those people that should be blamed are the
people who’s not thinking about their future and not having their family planned. I am not
in favor of abortion. Why? simply because of the life which God has given to that child.
Pregnancy is a big decision and priority; we must think about it twice before taking its
risk. Abortion for me must be remain illegal because anyone of us do not have the right
to kill anybody especially those newborns or will be born babies. Only God has the right
to retrieve the life He have given us. And for me, even if abortion will be allowed or
legalized here in Philippines, abortion was still a sin.

3. WHAT ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO FIGHT BULLYING IN SCHOOLS?

- First, let us identify what is bullying? Bullying occurs everywhere, even in the highest-
performing schools, and it is hurtful to everyone involved, from the targets of bullying to
the witnesses—and even to bullies themselves. October is National Bullying Prevention
Month, so it’s a good time to ask ourselves: What are the best practices for preventing
bullying in schools?
According to my source, there were two research-tested approaches that show the most
promise for reducing bullying (along with other forms of aggression and conflict). They are a
positive school climate, and social and emotional learning.
School climate can be difficult to define, though possible to measure. It is the “felt sense” of
being in a school, which can arise from a greeting, the way a problem is resolved, or how
people work together; it is a school’s “heart and soul,” its “quality and character.” Schools
with a positive climate foster healthy development, while a negative school climate is
associated with higher rates of student bullying, aggression, victimization, and feeling
unsafe.
Advancing social and emotional learning. Social and emotional learning (SEL) is well known,
and involves teaching skills of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness,
responsible decision making, and relationships management.

4. SHOULD STUDENTS HAVE TO WEAR SCHOOL UNIFORMS?

- School uniforms should definitely be used in school systems. Uniforms are both good
for schools as well as for the students. Wearing uniforms will help build a sense of unity
within the school. Instead of everyone as a separate team, everyone will be in the same
team. Wearing uniforms will help free students of the stress of what to wear in the
morning. Wearing school uniforms will help improve student individuality and improve
their self-esteem. First, wearing matching uniforms can make students feel equal. Poor
students would no longer feel excluded because they are not wearing name brand
clothes like the richer kids. Kids sometime tease each other because of the brand of
clothes that they wear.
Social status will also be less of an issue because everyone would be wearing the same
clothing. Uniforms will improve students’ individuality because they will have to express
themselves through their personality and attitude, rather than through a brand name pair of
jeans or an expensive pair of tennis shoes. Wearing uniforms will allow the teachers to form
a better perception of a student based on how they act not by how they dressed. Students
social standing would be based more on individual character. Wearing uniforms will help
improve a student’s self-esteem because they will not feel pressured to dress a certain way.
Students feel pressured by other students when they can’t dress like they dress. If all
students are dressed the same, everyone will feel equal. Second, wearing uniforms will
allow more time for studying. Students will be more focused on their school work and
homework. Wearing uniforms will allow kids more time to do their homework, because they
will not be focused on trying to find the hottest outfit to wear to school the next day.
Students spend too much time trying to put together the perfect outfit for school. Wearing
uniforms will allow kids the opportunity to understand what is more important and that is the
school work as well as the homework.

5. IS A COLLEGE EDUCATION WORTH IT?

- I have strong convictions that enable me to believe that a college education is
imperative. They have enabled me to believe this because the results of a college
education is greater productivity, a lower crime rate, better health, and better citizenship
for more educated people. A college degree has a larger investment than stock markets
and housing. In fact most college graduates believe that college was a good personal
investment. In the article “Is a College Education Worth It” by Henry Punionion he
encapsulates the essence of the importance of a college education. Primarily, a college
education can ensure you greater productivity in your life. They say that it is not worth it
because many students do not graduate and waste their money and the governments. I
on the other hand believe that even though you may not graduate from college you still
get to learn the social skills needed in your everyday life. You may have failed a class in
college so you did not graduate and now your thinking your money has been wasted, but
it has not. You got to learn the curriculum and how to communicate with people at jobs
or even your neighbors. Now that you have already taken that class you can try to take
it again next semester and learn from your mistakes. As I have stated in the
aforementioned paragraphs, the results of a college education is greater productivity,
better health, and better citizenship for higher educated people. A college degree has a
larger and more exceptional investment return.

6. IS HUMAN ACTIVITY A SUBSTANTIAL CAUSE OF GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE?

- Human activities contribute to climate change by causing changes in Earth’s atmosphere
in the amounts of greenhouse gases, aerosols (small particles), and cloudiness. The
largest known contribution comes from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases carbon
dioxide gas to the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases and aerosols affect climate by
altering incoming solar radiation and outgoing infrared (thermal) radiation that are part of
Earth’s energy balance. Changing the atmospheric abundance or properties of these
gases and particles can lead to a warming or cooling of the climate system. Since the
start of the industrial era (about 1750), the overall effect of human activities on climate
has been a warming influence. The human impact on climate during this era greatly
exceeds that due to known changes in natural processes, such as solar changes and
volcanic eruptions. For me, yes, it is. Human activity is a substantial cause of global
climate change.

7. SHOULD EUTHANASIA OR PHYSICAL-ASSISTED SUICIDE BE LEGAL?

- What is Euthanasia? The act or practice of killing or permitting the death of hopelessly
sick or injured individual. The word comes from the Greek euthanatos, which means
‘easy death.’ In English, euthanasia has been used in exactly this sense since the early
seventeenth century, when Francis Bacon described the phenomenon as ‘after the
fashion and semblance of a kindly & pleasant sleep.’ Nowadays, the word usually refers
to the means of attaining such a death.” also (such as persons or domestic animals) in a
relatively painless way for reasons of mercy. Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide
refer to a deliberate action taken with the intention of ending a life to relieve persistent
pain.

8. IS PRESIDENT MARCOS JR. A GOOD PRESIDENT?

9. SHOULD DRUG TESTING BE MADE MANDATORY FOR ALL SCHOOLS?

- For me it’s a yes, for the reason that many of the students nowadays are hook up in
using or abusing illegal drugs. Wherever we are in our country, we can see and hear
news about student’s lives turns upside down because of using these prohibited drugs.
Why? It is due to the freedom that all students have when they were in school starting
from elementary, high school, and until college. They are having their freedom to make a
decision for themselves.
During this period of growing up or the what so called as the adolescence, a child or a
student has a freedom to make decision for his/herself without the guidance of their parents
or guardians that sometimes leads them to the destruction of their lives. During this period
also, they are making friends in school, close friends, or bffs, and etc., that lures them to try
to use the illegal drugs most especially if their circle of friends are a bad influence. This is
where the peer pressure approaches. It is also due to associating with what their friends
want them to do. But, in my own opinion, if the government or the DEPED will going to have
or make this drug testing mandatory, the students will be no longer attempt to use illicit
drugs. That is why me, myself, and I will vote for the mandatory implementation of drug
testing in all schools and universities. Thank you!

10. ARE SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES GOOD FOR OUR SOCIETY?

- Are Social Networking Sites Good for Our Society? Many people in our society can
relate. We wake up, check our phones. We go to school, check our phones. We go
home, check our phones. And right before we go to bed, we check our phones. And for
what? What are we constantly checking? Imagine logging out of social networking sites
for one day. How would you feel? You would probably feel disconnected and want to log
back on as soon as possible. This generation uses these websites to connect, to stay in
the loop, and to become involved. However, people will take advantage of the use of
these websites, and in return, the websites take over the majority of their life. However,
there are some positive effects of social media. It is Building relationships and staying
connected, finding your voice, but not literally your vocal voice it means your worth,
showing empathy and kindness, offering support, better communication, spreading
news, building a business, learning and education, and motivating young people. These
are some of the positive effects of social networking.
For me, social networking sites’ effectiveness depends upon on how a society would use the
opportunity of using it. Although people believe that social networking sites are harmful, they
are also very beneficial. It can help young people develop their interests and find other
people who share the same interests. They can help introduce young people to new things
and ideas, and deepen appreciation of existing interests. Thank you!

11. DO YOU THINK THE DEATH PENALTY SHOULD TAKE PLACE IN THE MODERN
WORLD AND WHY?
- Absolutely not.

Why do we learn little kids they shouldn't fight violence with violence? And then consider the
death penalty being a good thing?
One of the worst crimes in existence is murder: consciously and intentionally ending
someone’s life. How is the death penalty anything different then this appalling act?
It does not work! The number of serious crimes actually dropped! Why? Psychology….
People can't relate to something as big as death… so they don't change behavior
accordingly. It is therefore very ineffective as a repellent against crime.
Crimes can get worse because of it, because: what do you got to lose when you got the
death penalty hanging above your head… right?
Finally: false convictions happen and will continue to happen… no way of turning back
death…
Countries and people still in favor of the death penalty are stuck somewhere in the Middle
Ages when people didn't know better. It's barbaric, it's inefficient and it's just murder.

12. ARE PEOPLE WITH MATHEMATICAL MINDSET MORE SUCCESSFUL?

- Not necessarily. They would be successful in certain types of jobs where their skills form
the bulk of their job requirements. But in an organization and in life one needs more
analytical abilities where there are various shades of grey in a situation and never black
and white as in mathematical abilities. An ability to perceive the situation in new ways
and determine solutions requires creativity. These are the people who will be successful
not the people with only mathematical abilities. A leader of an organization has to assess
various demands from; the vision and mission of the company, its values, organizational
setup and its abilities, his responsibility towards the shareholders, employees, and
society and determine his path. It is quite a tough task in deed. Here the mathematical
abilities have very little role towards the success.
An excellent Engineer or a Scientist may fail miserably in his if his relationship skills are
poor or has attitudinal problems. A Chartered Accountant may not be a good leader.

13. IS SEXUAL ORIENTATION DETERMINED AT BIRTH?

- The biological purpose of sex is reproduction, and natural sexual reproduction only
occurs in opposite-sex relationships. So, in one sense, everyone who is born with a
normal reproductive system is physiologically “oriented” toward heterosexuality at birth.
However, this fundamental physical reality does not define what people today call
“sexual orientation.” Sexual orientation involves a mix of sexual attractions, behaviors
and self-identification. Surveys about sexuality have shown that these three elements of
sexual orientation are not always consistent with each other, and not always stable over
time. There are also significant differences between male and female sexuality. This
complexity and variability make it somewhat difficult to even define “sexual orientation”

14. CONVICTED PRISONERS SHOULD NOT HAVE BETTER LIVING CONDITIONS THAN
THOSE NOT IN PRISON.
- Certainly, I do not agree to this statement, because prisoners are also a human. Prison
conditions should not be an additional punishment. The prison sentence is the sanction:
it holds an individual accountable for their actions and protects society. It deprives
someone of their liberty and impacts on certain other rights, such as freedom of
movement, which are the inevitable consequences of imprisonment, but people in prison
retain their human rights and fundamental freedoms. However, in reality prisons often do
not meet even the most basic of standards, and many prison staff consider harsh
treatment to be a legitimate way to deal with those they supervise. States are obliged to
ensure that detainees are treated humanely. This includes providing adequate
accommodation, food and water, sanitation and healthcare, access to light, fresh air and
exercise.
15. SHOULD GAY MARRIAGE BE LEGAL?
- Should gay marriage be legalized? Over the years attitude towards gay people in our
country was different. However, in most cases homosexual acts were criminalized. In
specific countries same-sex intimacy was punishable, included execution. In
contemporary world situation has changed but there still exist problems regarding the
recognition of gay rights. This essay will advance the idea that not only have people with
different sexual orientation equal rights to fulfill their potential but also, they have got
freedom of choice. Any kind of discrimination is not acceptable. Consequently, issues
such as: legalization of marriage, employment, public accommodations, credit lending,
housing for non-traditional sexual orientation people ought to be taken into account. The
reasons are different why legalization of gay marriage is impartial.

16. WHEN DO YOU BECOME AN ADULT?

- Adulthood is a social construct. For that matter, so is childhood. But like all social
constructs, they have real consequences. They determine who is legally responsible for
their actions and who is not, what roles people are allowed to assume in society, how
people view each other, and how they view themselves. But even in the realms where it
should be easiest to define the difference—law, physical development—adulthood defies
simplicity. One way to measure adulthood might be the maturity of the body—surely
there should be a point at which you stop physically developing, when you are officially
an “adult” organism? That depends, though, on what measure you choose. Humans are
sexually mature after puberty, but puberty can start anywhere between ages 8 and 13
for girls and between ages 9 and 14 for boys, and still be considered “normal,” For me,
we become an adult if we are already matured enough in all aspect of our being a
human.

17. IS IT ALREADY TIME TO CHANGE THE PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION FROM

“REPUBLIC” TO “FEDERALISM?”
- First, what is federalism? Federalism is a mixed or compound mode of government that
combines a general government with regional governments in a single political system,
dividing the powers between the two. What is a federalism example? The federal
government has the power to regulate trade between states, declare war, manage the
mail, and print money—among several other powers. State governments have their own
set of powers too. Is federalism good in the Philippines? Of all the most important
systemic and fundamental constitutional reforms that must be implemented in order to
improve the Philippines, Federalism is the reform that has the most solid support among
most ordinary Filipinos. Aside from the economic aspect, federalism is also seen as the
best means to address problems in Mindanao which suffers the most from ethno-
religious conflicts. Duterte added that the current unitary form of government has not
worked well given the ethnic diversity in the country.
Sa tingin ko oo, dahil para mas mapagtuonan ng pansin ang mga lugar dito sa ating bans
ana kailangang idevelop

Iba yung pang buong bansang defense kesa sa by state defense.

18. SHOULD CORPORAL PUNISHMENT BE USED IN K-12 SCHOOLS?

- A corporal punishment or a physical punishment is a punishment which is intended to
cause physical pain to a person. Corporal punishment is a form of punishment used on
children to correct bad behavior. The definition of corporal punishment is, a physical
punishment, as flogging, inflicted on the body of one convicted of a crime. When it is
inflicted on minors, especially in home and school settings, its methods may include
spanking or paddling. When we were in our grade school, I even reached the times
when teachers were allowed to spank students. What are the advantages of corporal
punishment? Corporal punishment teaches the child self-discipline, because they learn
when they commit a negative act or behavior, then they will pay the consequences for
that negative act/behavior.

19. SHOULD WE HAVE TO PAY TO ADOPT A CHILD?

- Adoption is a life-changing process, and it has to be done well. That means there are
highly important services provided by adoption agencies, social workers, attorneys and
more. All of this protects the best interests of the birth parents, adoptive family and child.
Because something this important has to be handled with care, there are costs
associated with the process. Do you have to pay for adoption? Yes, but you are not
“buying a child.” That false idea — that paying for adoption is some sort of transaction
for the baby — is what can make many people feel uncomfortable about the subject.
But, the cost of adoption is not in any way a transaction for a child. Rather, you are
paying to adopt because of the costs associated with the adoption process.

20. STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT, EVEN IF YOU STAND ALONE.

- What does stand up for what you believe in even if it means standing alone mean? In
this materialistic world yes, one is apprehensive and with lack of faith which further
worsens the situation makes you timid and you may find these lines irrelevant.
But the fact is, the Genuity of this phrase cannot be changed: The phrase, stand up for
what is right, even if you're standing alone, means that you should do the right thing,
even if no one else agrees with you. Like if everyone is being mean to someone, and
you are the only one to state that they should stop and it's not right. You are standing up
for what is right, even though you are the only one that is.

21. USING ANIMALS FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IS INHUMAN.

- Should animals be used in research? Animals, from the fruit fly to the mouse, are widely
used in scientific research. They are crucial for allowing scientists to learn more about
human biology and health, and for developing new medicines. On the other hand,
removing animals completely from the lab would impede our understanding of health
and disease, and consequently affect the development of new and vital treatments.
Although sometimes these studies do reduce the quality of life of these animals,
thorough regulations are in place to ensure that they are carried out in a humane way.
To help minimize the harm animals may experience while being studied in the
laboratory, researchers are required to follow a set of principles, the ‘three Rs’. These
are:
Replace
Reduce
Refine

22. JUVENILE CRIME IS A CRY FOR HELP NOT PUNISHMENT.

- Today, there are two different approaches to juvenile crime. One is to lock up more and
more young offenders, at an increasingly young age. The other trend is to avoid
criminalization and to seek family-based or other social alternatives to imprisonment.
Now, what is Juvenile crime? It is a crime committed by children and adolescents under
the age of 18 years. What are the common incidents of Juvenile crime? Male steals,
picketing, drug usage, rubbery, assaults, and sexual abuses. For female, sexual
offenses, small thefts, drug usage, and running away from home. Researchers have
note that the presence of several RISK FACTORS often increases a youth’s chance of
offending.
I have here a recommendation. There is a need for everyone involved, including police,
judges, and prosecutors to be educated not only about the law, but also the special
needs of children. In every district there should be one juvenile court. Juvenile crime is a
cry for help not a punishment. A child in that situation is sometimes more a victim than
an offender.

23. DO CURFEWS KEEP TEENS OUT OF TROUBLE?

- Curfews are one of many things that was set in place to keep teens out of trouble. I
believe that what keeps teens to be on the path to being successful in life. It helps teens
build up responsibility for themselves so they can make it in life. Although some believe
that curfews do not in fact keep teens out of trouble, it is clear that it keeps them from
getting in trouble, keeps them safe, and contributes to healthy habits. Instilling a curfew will
keep teenagers out of trouble because it will teach them to be more obedient and
responsible, encourages them to dedicate more time to their academics, and gives them a
legitimate reason to say "no" to peer pressure.

24. MODERN MEDIA IS TO BLAME FOR LOWERING MORAL STANDARDS, READING

LEVELS OR ESCALATING VIOLENCE.

25. SHOULD CELEBRITIES BE HELD TO A HIGHER MORAL STANDARD SINCE THEY

ARE OFTEN VIEWED AS ROOLE MODELS BY CHILDREN AND TEENS?
26. SHOULD PPARENT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE ACTIONS OF THEIIR CHILDREN?
27. WINNING AT ALL COST IS NOT RIGHT.
28. EQUALITY IS A MYTH.
29. WOMEN SHOOULD STAY IN THE HOME AND LOOK AFTER THEIR FAMILIES
PROPERLY.
30. GLOBAL ARMING IS REAL.
31. WHAT WE EAT WE BECOME.
32. LYING IS ALWAYS WRONG.
33. THE IDEA OF PEACE ON EARTH IS NAÏVE.
34. MONEY IS NOT THE ROOT OOF ALL EVIL.
35. HOMELESSNESS IS THE RESULT OF CHOICE.
