Greg M Season 1 was good, 2 okay and 3 sucked!!! I haven’t been this frustrated with a show since Lost. I wanted to see how it ends but it is awful. Don’t waste your time. I was really enjoying it (I have always been a fan of Sissy Spacek) and up until the middle till the end of season three I would have given it 5 stars..but I can’t. From John’s suicide / accident ?? (No one really knows what it was) till the end of the story it blows…it’s like they didn’t know where to take the story so let’s just not give any answers and just say it was done purposely….sad, really sad. The writing is so phenomenal, IMHO, WORLD CLASS, and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole series 2. All the actors are so amazing! Sissy Spacek, the actors who played Danny, John, Kevin, and Meg, were phenomenal in their roles! Even the secondary characters like Eric O' Bannon, Chelsea his sister, etc., did such a superb job 3. The "arc" of the story is perfect! It starts off calm and tranquil, and gradually increases in intensity slowly, subtly, for each episode 4. Rated 2.5/5 Stars •  Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/13/24 Full Review Audience Member The first season of BLOODLINE is very unnecessarily slow to develop and the buildup continues until the last 2 - 3 episodes with practically each scene happening way too fast, pared down to mininal dialogue (I had to go back many times to sort out what was happening). The second season turned into a hack job soap for 1950s housewives and I quit watching it because I'm too much of a wimp to endure THIRTY THREE EPISODES of something this pretentiously empty. Rated 1.5/5 Stars •  Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Jeanne U First season well-paced, concise, a roller coaster ride. 2nd season notsomuch...a bit draggy, but still well-acted. The premise is "all that glitters ain't gold", that beneath the surface all unhappy families are unhappy in their own unique way, to paraphrase Tolstoy. 3rd season was rushed to pack in all the weird dream sequences a la Sopranos to resolve psychological dilemmas and do the ultimate reveals. The series had been cancelled abruptly so producers had only that last season to resolve the storylines...admittedly rushed. The lynchpin turned out to be matriarch Sally, the real gangster deep down who thought family was something to burnish and show off to the world as exemplary when even her son John-the so-called good boy-accused her of not knowing what family really meant. She swings from delusional and pseudo-wholesome to hardcore thuggery...who'd lie through her teeth on the witness stand to save the family name meanwhile hating her kids deep down for having real pain and real problems. Sins of both the fathers and mothers handed down to the kids resulting in heinous crimes and broken marriages and cover-ups. An excellent primer on how not to raise your kids.
