Big Bopper's Casket on Display (Closed)
Irving, Texas
The Big Bopper -- Jiles Richardson -- had one hit record ("Chantilly Lace") and then he died in the same plane crash that killed Buddy Holly in 1959. In 2007 he was dug out of his grave in Beaumont, Texas, and reburied in a new casket in a nicer part of the cemetery.
His original casket is now a featured exhibit at the Texas Musicians Museum, along with relics from other Texas stars, such as Janis Joplin's high school yearbook, an autographed jumpsuit worn by Tanya Tucker, a size XXXL Barry White jacket, and what the museum claims are the first and last autographs of Buddy Holly.
