Escorting Venturas on a raid to Amsterdam, the raid ran into 70 FW 190s. The Squadron destroyed 2 FW 190s but only 1 Ventura returned. Wing Leader Blashford was lost in the sea and Sqn Ldr Wooten promoted to replace him and awarded a bar to his DFC. |
