For the first time in Fantasy Premier League history THREE players have been captained by more than two million managers - Erling Haaland (£15.0m), Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) and Cole Palmer (£11.0m).
Haaland is the No 1 pick, captained by more than 3m for Manchester City's home match against Nottingham Forest, an increase of more than 100,000 from the weekend.
But, despite gaining more armbands, Haaland also finds himself among the two most-sold players for the fourth successive Gameweek as he continues to divide Fantasy bosses.
Indeed, the Norwegian's ownership has slipped below 50 per cent for the first time since his Premier League debut. Both Salah and Palmer are now owned by a greater number of managers.
GW14 most-captained players
Player | Captained by | Pts |
---|---|---|
Haaland | 3,044,211 | - |
Salah | 2,868,174 | - |
Palmer | 2,022,851 | - |
Saka | 429,066 | - |
Jackson | 305,425 | - |
Salah, the top captain choice in Gameweek 13, has been backed by 2.8m on this occasion. Liverpool travel to Newcastle United on Wednesday.
Encouragingly for his backers, the Egyptian has returned in each of his last six starts against the Magpies. Salah has averaged 9.0 points per match over that run thanks to four goals and five assists.
Two Chelsea players are included in the top five captains for the Blues' trip to Southampton. Bottom club Southampton rank among the two worst teams for both shots in the box conceded and shots on target conceded, boosting the appeal of Palmer and the most-bought player for the midweek round of matches, Nicolas Jackson (£8.1m).
Only once before, in Double Gameweek 35 last season, has Palmer been captained by more managers.
Bukayo Saka (£10.4m) equalled his career-best return last Saturday with an 18-point haul at West Ham United.
The 429,000+ who have selected Saka for double points will be hoping for a repeat when Arsenal host Manchester United on Wednesday.
