Flir Systems Inc. said it has sold portable printer developer Extech Data Systems for an undisclosed amount. The Wilsonville-based maker of heat-sensing devices bought Extech as part of its 2007 purchase of Extech Instruments Corp., a Waltham, Mass., supplier of handheld heat-sensing test instruments.
The buyer, Datamax-O'Neil of Orlando, Fla., is owned by New York-based Dover Corp. and makes receipt and label printers. Flir chief executive Earl Lewis said Extech Data Systems did not fit in Flir's growth plans.
