Employee Viewpoint Survey

In 2024, the National Gallery of Art again participated in the government's Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) surveyed more than 1.6 million federal employees, requesting their opinions on leadership, job satisfaction, and work-life issues.

At the National Gallery, 774 employees were surveyed and 412 responded, for a response rate of 53.2%, which exceeded the government-wide response rate of 50.0%. The survey included 90 “core” questions. The responses to 52 (57.8%) of these questions were identified as "strengths" (65% or more positive responses), while 1 question (0.0%) was identified as a "challenge" (35% or more negative responses).

Fiscal Year 2023 Results

In 2023, the National Gallery of Art again participated in the government's Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) surveyed more than 1.6 million federal employees, requesting their opinions on leadership, job satisfaction, and work-life issues.

At the National Gallery, 780 federal employees were surveyed and 464 responded, for a response rate of 59.5%, which well exceeded the government-wide response rate of 38.9%. The survey included 90 “core” questions. The responses to 46 (51.1%) of these questions were identified as National Gallery "strengths" (65% or more positive responses), while 1 question (0.0%) was identified as a "challenge" (35% or more negative responses).
