An actress has revealed her devastation after discovering her husband had been cheating on her with their baby son's teenage babysitter.

Lauren Weedman claims her partner of 11 years, Jeff Weatherford, started an affair with the 'attractive' girl within months of them hiring her.

She says the then-18-year-old would show up to their home in 'low-cut tops' and 'mini-skirts', but she dismissed her style as simply that of a typical teenager.

A year later, Lauren tied the knot with Jeff, unaware that he had allegedly been cheating on her with the girl she had trusted to look after their son.

The couple split up in 2013 after less than two years of marriage, but it was only later that the 47-year-old says she discovered the 'real reason why'.

Lauren says Weatherford was visiting their son, Leo, as part of an amicable co-parent arrangement when he left his laptop behind.

She says she went on the device - which she used to own - to check if there were any old videos on it that she had forgotten about.

But instead, she found something horrifying.

The video that popped up showed Leo's babysitter - naked.

It had allegedly been filmed in 2011, a year before Lauren and Jeff married and when Leo was just one year old.

Lauren, best known for her role on the US TV series Looking, told of her husband's affair in an interview with the New York Post.

She referred to Jeff by the name 'David', and called their babysitter 'Simone'.

"The oldest video on David’s computer wasn’t one of Leo splashing in the bathtub," the mother of one told the newspaper.

"It was of our babysitter, Simone, sans clothes — and it was dated 2011, a year before David and I had even gotten married."

This woman, believed to be the babysitter dubbed 'Simone', is listed as Jeff's girlfriend on Facebook (

She added that after viewing the disturbing footage, she immediately rang Simone and told her she would 'never' babysit Leo again.

Lauren, from Los Angeles, California, was living apart from actor-turned-director Jeff at the time she says she found the video on his laptop.

The pair had first met nearly 20 years ago, when they were both married to different people and living in Seattle, Washington.

After Jeff's wife died and Lauren went through a divorce, the couple turned their friendship into a romance and eventually had Leo.

Following the little boy's birth, Lauren became the primary breadwinner, taking on theatre acting roles and appearing on various TV shows.

While she featured in programmes including True Blood, New Girl and Masters Of Sex, her husband stayed at home to take care of Leo.

Jeff apparently loved looking after the youngster, but soon recommended that they hire Simone, an aspiring actress, to babysit him.

He already knew Simone because he mentored her, said Lauren, the author of Fresh Perspectives on Having It All From Someone Who Is Not Okay.

She added that the teenager would turn up at their home in skimpy clothes, but she gave her the benefit of the doubt, ignoring her friends' concerns in the process.

In 2012, Lauren and Jeff married. But before long, Jeff allegedly grew 'increasingly distant', disappearing for hours at a time.

Lauren now believes her husband struggled to deal with the lack of 'ego strokes' that resulted from him staying at home with Leo, now four, all day.

She thinks he began the affair with Simone after feeling emasculated.

"It’s every woman’s nightmare, and it can happen to anyone — just look at Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck," she said, referring to the allegations that Ben had a relationship with their children's nanny.

"I should have followed my instincts."

Two years on, Jeff and Simone are apparently still together.

But despite her devastation over her husband's affair, Lauren says she is grateful to have been freed from their unhappy relationship.

In response to the allegations, the man referred to as 'David' told the Post that Lauren 'combines truth with fiction' in her 'storytelling'.

He added that he did not wish to comment on the authenticity of her claims, but that he is grateful they are able to be 'great co-parents' to their son.

Jeff was confirmed as the father of Lauren's young son - and her longtime boyfriend - in an interview with Boise Weekly in 2011.
