Last week we predicted that Rihanna and Chris Brown were going to get back together – in the musical sense - and release a new single. It’s happened.
Rihanna had Tweeted her fans a while back asking them who she should collaborate with on a remix of her dirty filthy sexy track, Birthday Cake.
“Would yall be mad if Birthday #CAKE became a single? Now here’s the trick question! #IF I put [a] collaborator on it, who would u wanna see lick the icing off????? #CAKE”.
When we tell you that Cake is a euphemism for a woman’s naughty bits and Rihanna sings lyrics like: “It’s not even my birthday, but you wanna lick the icing off. I know you want it in the worst way. You wanna blow my candles out. I know you wanna bite this, it’s so enticing,” you’ll understand that there’ll be quite a lot of meaning attached to whoever does lick the icing off.
Cue Chris Brown – the man who beat her virtually senseless in a car three years ago just before the Grammys, who sings: “Girl I wanna f*** you right now, been a long time I’ve been missing your body. Turn the lights down, when I go down it’s a private party.”
Yeah, ok Rihanna, we’re shocked.
All of this of course is going to cause a big old fuss and Rihanna’s bound to come under criticism for not setting a good example to young girls out there.
But we have to admit, it’s a pretty amazing stroke of genius in terms of publicity and messing with people’s minds.
It was Chris who revealed the collaboration last night on Twitter. Just after Rihanna, who was out celebrating her 24th birthday (again) and looking very glam at Nozomi restaurant in London, posted: “Who wants some #CAKE ???????????”
Chris replied: “@chrisbrown Turn up the music remix #RihannaNavy #Teambreezy enjoy!!!” and a link to the downloadable track.
Rihanna responded with: “#RihannaNavy Come and put ya name on it!!!!! RT @chrisbrown: @rihanna https://goo.gl/ttRJR YIKES!!! Cake, cake, cake! / Its a download OVERLOAD!!!! Working on more links for u guys, so errbody could have some #CAKE.”
Rihanna has returned the favour, in the musical sense (we hope that’s all it is) and appeared on his track Turn Up The Music.
Now we’re going to try our hardest not to predict they’ll get back together in any other ways and just concentrate on the lottery numbers instead.
Listen to Birthday Cake below, but we warned it's VERY rude.
