PENNING:
Anyone bringing goats to the fair (4-H, FFA, Open Class) needs to contact a superintendent by JULY 20 for PENNING ARRANGEMENTS.
NO TRAILERING IN FOR SHOW DAY!
Goats must be on fairgrounds entire duration of the fair.
BEDDING/AREA PREP:
Goat exhibitors will be ALLOWED TO BED their pens starting on TUESDAY.
ANIMAL ARRIVAL:
Goats are allowed onto the fair grounds beginning on WEDNESDAY.

OPEN CLASS & FFA: goats must be in place by
7:00 AM on THURSDAY.

4-H: Goats must be in place by 7:00 PM on WEDNESDAY.

Goats are RELEASED no sooner than 6:00 PM on SUNDAY
ANIMAL HEALTH AND IDENTIFICATION
NO ANIMAL may enter the fairgrounds showing clinical signs of any infectious,
contagious, or communicable DISEASE, including ringworm and warts.
Any animal WITHOUT PROPER IDENTIFICATION, or showing SIGNS OF DISEASE,
will be required to LEAVE THE FAIRGROUNDS IMMEDIATELY.
HEALTH:
No goat that is within 30 days of giving birth (either before or after)may be exhibited unless the exhibition management
has received prior approval from the Board, and then only if certain requirements are met.
IDENTIFICATION:
Upon arrival, exhibitors must provide the following written information:
1) EXHIBITOR INFO: name, address, phone number
2) ANIMAL ID INFO: Official identification information for each separate animal (one of the following):
1. Flock identification (ID) Tags
Includes the flock ID number beginning with the state abbreviation
(maximum nine characters, including state abbreviation) along with a unique
herd management number (maximum six characters)
2) Sheep/Goat Serial Tags
For use at livestock markets or by accredited veterinarians

Begins with state abbreviation; eight characters total,
last four or five are numerical
3) Animal Identification Number (AIN) System
Consists of 15 digits, beginning with “840” (Includes “840” tags bearing the 4H logo)

Visual or Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
-
15-digit RFID tags beginning with “USA” or 900-998 if applied
before March 11, 2015
4) Tatoos
For any tattoo to be considered official identification,it must be legible.
Registered sheep/goats
-
Breed registry tattoos that are recorded with a sheep or
goat registry association
-
Must be accompanied by a copy of the registration certificate or a
Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) listing tattoo and
registration numbers.
Non-registered goats
-
State-approved tattoos that are recorded with a state animal health Board
-
Tattoo must include the state-approved prefix beginning with
the state abbreviation and include a unique number

The animal must be accompanied by:
1. A Board-issued document certifying that the tattoo prefix is recorded
with the Board or,
2. For animals originating outside of Minnesota,
a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection which:
a) Certifies that the tattoo prefix is assigned in the National Scrapie Database, and
b) Lists the flock ID number and the complete tattoo number (including the
state-assigned prefix and the animal number).
TRAILERS
All livestock trailers must enter the
fairgrounds through the North Gate.
When leaving the fairgrounds, trailers can exit through the South Gate (near the carnival) or the Northwest Gate (between the 4-H and goat buildings).
**Trailers can be parked to the East of the Grandstand. Follow gravel road on North side of Fairgrounds back and park behind Sheriff's Building in grassy area.
