Diego Simeone will restart work with his team ahead of the start of the LaLiga Santander season, however he will do so without any new arrivals.

As of yet, Los Colchoneros haven't signed anybody on the summer market, which is a contrast to 2019 when all but one signing was confirmed before Simeone's charges even returned to the training facility.

Miguel Angel Gil Marin warned supporters that the summer of 2020 was going to be badly impacted by the coronavirus and there wouldn't be many signings, however there was still expected to be a small budget for additions.

Profe Ortega will take charge of the first fitness session that is schedule for Friday, although this is far from the traditional pre-season template.

As a result of their participation in the Champions League, Atleti will be permitted to start their own domestic campaign on September 26, whilst most other teams will be on their third fixture.

Simeone will be without a number of senior internationals for the start of pre-season as a result of the international calendar, so without any new signings it will be a somewhat bare group.
