The musician biopic is one i've seen a lot of but there has never been truly one about Elvis, okay there have been a few ones about the King over the years but this one is truly the most spectacular one of them all, mainly because it stands out from other biopics. (Usb) Colonel Parker is the villain but makes his discharges in the figure of an amusing bastard tricky Tom Hanks. Elvis has to be a manipulable moron to be managed by Hanks (even his religipus mother is more inteligent) and so are his friends...in Luhrmand there's a superficial baroquism...

It's unique to him and it always creates a certain excitable energy. Butler does a hell of a job playing the king and Hanks is incredibly, and appropriately, unlikable. This compared with Tom Hanks and the odd choices from prosthetics to the accent was very jarring.
