“I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since there was a decent cast involved, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, it turned out to be a rather complex movie with a lot going on. Indeed, it provided a reflection on stardom, on getting older and still stay relevant, about the fact that famous people can be so lonely and isolated from the rest of the world, about the odd relationship between personal assistants and the famous people they work for… They even took the time to admire the beautiful Swiss landscape and eventually, in my opinion, all of this was maybe too much too handle. To be honest, I was expecting this movie to focus more on the relationship between Maria Enders and Jo-Ann Ellis since they were going to work together and since Jo-Ann would take over t” read more
"Hieman kädenlämpöiseksi jäävä, ja usein myös nähty vanhenevan taiteilijan, ja tämän uhkaksi kokevan nuorikin välillä. Ei jättänyt oikein fiilistä suuntaan tahi toiseen."
"31.3. Pidin kovastikin. Elokuvan sisäisen näytelmän hahmot ja tapahtumat alkavat peilaantua elokuvan todellisen maailman ihmisiin ja tapahtumiin. Mielenkiintoista elokuvakeskustelua, Binoche best."
" Director: Olivier Assayas Starring: Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, Chloë Grace Moretz, Lars Eidinger, Johnny Flynn, Hanns Zischler, Brady Corbet, Angela Winkler and Aljoscha Stadelmann A veteran actress comes face-to-face with an uncomfortable reflection of herself when she agrees to take part in a revival of the play that launched her career 20 years earlier. Haunted by her past life, she withdraws herself, along with her assistant, in the Swiss town of Sils Maria."

" DVD- 2hrs. 3min. First Viewing While it does border on being too small-scale for it's own good, Clouds of Sils Maria does work, for the most part, as a dissection on the thin line between art and reality. It helps that the cast is excellent, with both Binoche and Stewart doing some of the best acting of their careers. "
"Honestly despite the great acting, the attempt the film was making to having some deeper meaning was rather annoying. Art reflecting reality or reality reflecting art! Who knows?! I can understand why some would praise Clouds of Sils Maria but for me it was a pretentious bore. I also don't see what the praise for Kirsten Stewart is all about. She wasn't bad or anything, was quite solid but French Academy Award good? Don't see it."
" 5.30 An aging actress and her young assistant make a journey to self discovery amid backdrops of picturesque snow capped mountains. An exquisite character study with wonderful natural performances from Juliette Binoche and most especially, Kristen Stewart."
