QA and Remote Testing of Mobile Games Remote testing of mobile games presents a unique opportunity for testing games in a wider range of environments than in-house testing. I recommend taking a test device with you when you run your errands. How does the game feel to play a round in the grocery store or laundromat? Can a productive game session occur while walking your dog? Doing this kind of thing can help create useful qualitative feedback in regards to delight cycles, game balances, etc.

If you're a Mobile Engineer anywhere in the world, this post is for you. I'm a Venezuelan 🇻🇪 based in Miami, FL with 10+ years of experience. As a Hispanic immigrant in the US, I have to emphasize this fact: apps need to be more inclusive. It's not just a great UI/UX that's appealing. If your app doesn't speak my language, it's not user-friendly to me. The US alone has more than 20% of the population for whom English is not their first language. This diversity varies anywhere in the world. We're in a globalized industry and we need to have a sense of belonging and inclusion for all the products we build. And this isn't just a product decision, it's an engineering decision. Make your apps localized, ask for translations, set priorities, and speak up. If you love your application and want your customers to feel a sense of belonging when they use it, you must connect with them. But how can we connect with people when we don't speak the same language? In Mobile Engineering, there's a great opportunity to provide this. There are manual and automated ways. And there are no excuses. Bottom line is, we want to make the best apps, the best copies to appeal to customers, yet we're failing to even send the message. Make your apps INCLUSIVE!
