Among the manufactured weapons, the workers assemble various Panzerschrecks. The armaments company Schricker & Co. from nearby Vach near Nuremberg was responsible for producing the new weapon. However, as the American and British air raids on Germany's cities became increasingly devastating, Schricker moved the assembly to Herzogenaurach. From then on, the individual parts of the Ofenrohr (stovepipes), as the Panzerschreck was popularly known due to its simple design, arrived at the Dasslers by rail. There, shoe seamstresses, hastily trained as armaments workers, welded visors and protective shields onto the pipes. French forced laborers also had to lend a hand which is also mentioned in the series.
Nevertheless, the Franconian armaments amateurs made a big mess of the assembly; the Wehrmacht rejected many finished weapons on acceptance.
