It looks as though, over the course of the story, Tarleton will transform into MODOK (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing), although we only got a glimpse at what the legendarily huge-faced supervillain will look like in his final form for this take on the character.
We originally heard that MODOK would be the game's key villain after an achievement list leaked, but this marks his official unveiling. The trailer also shows us Abomination, and a variety of A.I.M.-created threats to Hulk Smash along your way.
Marvel's Avengers is headed to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia on September 4.
