The actors for T3 are getting excited about the project and as the production takes shape they're discussing it a little more freely with the media.¿ Edward Furlong, star of the upcoming Terminator 3, recently spoke with the folks over at TV Guide and revealed a bit about the project.¿ Furlong briefly discussed the project, in which he'll play resistance leader John Connor, "Right now, they're just kind of in the process of putting it together.¿ The script's great. I think it's going to be happening."¿
The Terminator himself, "Ahnuld," recently dished the latest 411 in a Los Angeles Times interview.¿ Schwarzenegger says that he's currently shooting an action-thriller in Mexico called Collateral Damage, in which he plays a federal officer seeking revenge upon terrorists who murdered his family.¿¿ Arnie went on to confirm that he will begin work in March on Terminator 3, in which he will battle a female android to the death. After that, he's hoping to bring the comic-book hero "Doc Savage" to the big screen. He compares the script by Frank Darabont (one of several writers on the project) to Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark.
If you're not into potential T3 spoilers then turn back now.¿ Those crazy kids over at Ain't It Cool News recently scored a script review of Terminator 3 and the writer dishes some key elements of the story.¿ We'll recap them briefly here for you, but you'll have to drag your mouse over the "invisible" text below to read the scoop.¿ This is your last warning! Spoilers ahead!
The film's title, or at least the working title at the time this copy of the script was written is T-3: Rise of the Machines. Very Terminator-ish.
John Connor has put his past behind him. Determined to lead a normal life, he's started his own computer programming company that specializes in computer network security. The drama begins are John meets with Sarah and she apparently talks him into hacking into Cyberdyne Systems to look into one highly secure project, Skynet.¿¿
While John is discovering the evils of Skynet, two Terminators are dispatched, one to project and one to destroy John Connor. The new prototype terminator is introduced, a female who is beautiful, and genetically perfect, the T-1G.
The T-1G is not made from liquid metal, like the T-1000, but made up of sentient frequency matter.¿Cool huh?
The script also contains a fair amount of character development, proving that story isn't being sacrificed in the name of more action and special effects.¿
We witness the actual birth of Skynet and early prototype cyborg models coming off of the assembly line. We also learn more about the Aerial Hunter Killers that are shown in the previous films, these are basically flying terminators.
Wow!¿ Okay, all that sounds pretty awesome. It looks like we might just have a decent Terminator film without James Cameron after all!
¿ Brian Linder says, "I'll be back...after lunch."
