Robotron puts emphasis on gameplay rather than graphics. Utilizing an intuitive control scheme, the game manages to pump out high amounts of fun without hiding the fact that it's out-dated and rather ugly to look at.
Midway had initially planned to publish the Player 1 developed title, but pulled away from the project at the last second for reasons unknown. Everyone thought the game was vaporware.
Newcomer Crave Entertainment, however, had other plans. The rising publisher appeared out of nowhere to distribute the retro game, which marks the first splash into the Nintendo 64 gaming market for both Crave and Player 1.
