Black Panther was named best movie at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, while Stranger Things was named best show during the ceremony, which aired Monday night on MTV.
Also winning awards were the cast of It for best onscreen team, along with Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman for best performance in a movie and best hero and Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown for best performance in a show. For a second consecutive year, both categories were gender-neutral, meaning actors and actresses competed against each other.
Tiffany Haddish hosted the show, which also handed out awards for best kiss and best villain. The ceremony was taped Saturday night from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
Also during the show, Lena Waithe accepted the Trailblazer Award, while Chris Pratt received the Generation Award.
