Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato banged up their face at the worst possible moment

At least they can laugh about it?
Demi Lovato Reveals Face Injury Before Kimmel Appearance

I wouldn't say there's ever, like, a fantastic time to get a facial injury requiring painful stitches, but the day before you're supposed to go on television has got to be one of the worst.

Alas, poor Demi Lovato did exactly that - as the singer showed their social media followers in a charmingly self-deprecating TikTok

As the popular “Nobody's Gonna Knowaudio plays, Lovato first covers their forehead with their hand before looking up to reveal a nasty-looking scrape right between the eyebrows. “F***,” they mouth to the camera with a laugh.

In the caption, Lovato wrote, “Guess who hit their head on a crystal and has to get stitches before Kimmel tomorrow???” Oof, babe, that's rough!

Now, obviously, I have questions. How big was this crystal? What were they doing with the crystal? How many stitches?

At least it seems like the injury wasn't serious enough to cause major damage, just a little embarrassment. Plus, it could always be worse. Does anyone else remember when Ewan McGregor's daughter Clara had to go to the hospital with dog bite wounds all over her face and then walked the red carpet anyway? Ouch… but kudos to her determination!

While Lovato hasn't provided us with any updates as to the state of their face yet (we're sure it'll all be fine), it looks like they soldiered on with their Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance on July 14, where they took to the stage to perform. Now, if that's not the true definition of "the show must go on, then we don't know what is!

The appearance comes right before the release of Lovato's latest single, “Substance,” on July 15, off their upcoming album Holy Fvck to be released August 19.

Demi Lovato has been teasing the new single on their social media with a video that features lots of smashing of objects. I just wish it hadn't been their face!
