Should we be starting a tradition of wearing bridal white for the entirety of the engagement period? Because newly engaged Selena Gomez is making a strong case in her back-to-back all-white ensembles. The day after the Golden Globes on January 6, Gomez was seen in Los Angeles wearing two different white dresses on the same day.

Gomez’s first look was a structured, beaded minidress in a softer off-white color by the designer Raisa Vanessa. The dress featured a scoop neckline and an extra-high hemline on the skirt. Gomez wore it with a pair of strappy white Aquazzura heels and a bold red lip but left most of the jewelry at home.

She doubled down on the white theme (literally) in her second look of the day. Later that night Gomez was pictured in a short white dress with oversized scallop details on the neckline, hem, and across the body. She wore this dress under a matching white blazer with structured shoulders and added a white wicker bag, keeping the same pointed-toe heels.

And it’s not like we don’t have other evidence that Gomez is making bridal white her new thing. Just a few days earlier she was at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 3, wearing a bold, off-white three-piece Ralph Lauren suit, complete with ivory tie. Maybe she’s just taking various bridal looks for a test drive before committing to an overall aesthetic for the big day.

Selena Gomez announced her engagement to Benny Blanco on December 11 on Instagram, showing off her enormous marquise diamond engagement ring in a carousel of photos. The engagement had been long expected from Gomez fans, and the couple even got a shout-out in Nikki Glaser’s monologue at the Golden Globes. “Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish. Man, lucky guy,” Glaser wise-cracked.
