Oscars 2021: The Hair and Makeup Looks Everyone Will Be Talking About

It’s been a strange awards season to say the least. and it finally comes to a close with the Oscars 2021. While the Academy Awards’ was the closest to a normal red carpet we’ve seen so far—there was an actual red carpet!—it was definitely still paired back, as only nominees and presenters were in attendance. However, the limited capacity certainly didn’t stop looks from being turned, and the celebs that made an appearance pulled out all the stops.
The Oscars are always a bit more formal in the hair and makeup department than other award shows—this is where classic updos and red lipsticks really shine—and tonight was no exception. But the Oscars 2021 red carpet felt particularly glam after a season of stars Zooming in from their couches.
Lipstick is back in a big way, as proven by Amanda Seyfried’s and Maria Bakalova’s bold shades. Meanwhile, Emerald Fennell and Regina King brought it in the eye shadow department. And that was just in the first 30 minutes. Here are our favorite hair and makeup looks from the Oscars 2021 red carpet, below.
