Hunslet Mill, Goodman Street, Leeds (1)
"The last and, individually, the largest of the great early C19 flax-spinning mills in Leeds. Erected 1838-40 for John Wilkinson, probably to designs of William Fairbairn." The main block is twenty-five bays in seven storeys. Perpendicular to this is a lower office and warehouse block, all of it fireproof. Grade II* listed.
In its dereliction a majestic site - the buildings had been disused since the 1970s; it has since been tamed and this view lost as much of the site has been landscaped and filled with new housing, and the mill itself converted into flats.
