Pittendreich House, Lasswade
On the site of Mary, Queen of Scots' stables, Pittendreich House was built in 1857 in the Jacobean baronial style for the Hon. Sir George Deas, Lord of Session. By 1871 it was occupied by the gardener and his family with no record of what became of Sir George. Subsequently a girls'school and now a nursing home.
