Ever since season two, fans have been left wondering why Beatty left Yellowstone as her character’s exit was left unexplained, it was simply announced Avery had left the ranch.
Fans also found her exit abrupt, considering her developing relationship with co-worker Jimmy Hurdstram.
On Avery’s character page on IMDb, one fan shared their theory on why Avery left the ranch.
They wrote: “When you watch the scene after jimmy returns from the rodeo he asks where she is and one of the cowboys says she packed her gear and just left the camera then pans around the bunkhouse at the different actors and they seem to have a look of guilt as if they have done something to her like maybe they tried to have their way with her because of her previous job before coming to the ranch and something went wrong this show is really catchy you have to watch each scene carefully hope she does return as she played the part really well."
Reddit user, Freckled_Bookworm shared their theory also, suggesting her exit may be part of the show's wider storyline.
They wrote: “I can't help but wonder, did her belongings just disappear or did any of the wranglers actually see her leave?
"Is her sudden and unquestioned absence attempting to shed light on the countless Native and Indigenous women that have gone missing, assaulted, and/or murdered that go unheard of by the general public? This isn't the first piece of modern film/television that has depicted these crimes. This is also an epidemic in Canada.”
A third user, mkul1tra, who claimed to have worked on the set of Yellowstone suggested Beatty left as a result of her character’s storyline.
They wrote: “So this is the rumour on set (I worked on season 1 and 2). She was supposed to have a relationship with jimmy as you could guess from them starting to talk and whatnot. But she’s in talks to be in some movie geared towards children (live-action remake) and didn’t want to risk her chances of not getting it because there was going to be a sex scene with them. Take this with a grain of salt but that’s what we heard on set.”

An exact reason has not been given for Avery’s exit, but it is possible she left the show to pursue other opportunities.
In 2015, Beatty was cast as Sacagawea in HBO's Lewis & Clark miniseries, alongside Casey Affleck and Matthias Schoenaerts.
In 2016, HBO announced Lewis & Clark was back in pre-production with a new showrunner attached.
There has been no word on the show’s status since, but there is a possibility the show is heading into production soon, considering it was never cancelled.
