The season five finale saw Angela getting shot as she stopped her lover James “Ghost” St Patrick (Omari Hardwick) fron getting killed. Is Angela Dead?
WARNING: This article contains major spoilers from Power season 6, episode 1
Season six picked up with Angela getting wheeled off to hospital in the back of an ambulance after she stopped Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) from killing Ghost.
Although Angela was alive for the first few minutes of the episode, sadly she succumbed to her wounds and died.
Her sister Paz (Elizabeth Rodriguez) took out her fury on Ghost, blaming him for Angela’s death.
Just in case there was any doubt over Angela’s fate, the government attorney’s corpse was laid out on the slab.

Kemp revealed in a recent interview with TVLine that she had considered keeping Angela alive and have the character fake her death.
The writer explained: “There was a moment where I really wanted to do that. I really wanted to make her fake-dead and have her come back. Then I was talked out of it. Because it’s a trick. It’s so a trick.”
She went on to say that Angela had to die because “she had all the information” which made her a target.
Angela was also now “outside of law enforcement” and at a point where she had to make a choice about whether to betray Ghost and go into hiding or try to aid her lover.

“She goes the path of love, which is how Angela has screwed up everything since she met Ghost, so it made sense in that way. It also made sense that it was on a collision course with Tommy, and Ghost having tricked him in Season 5 into killing his own father, so those things felt very similar,” she said.
The executive admitted there had been talks about Ghost killing Angela but in the end, it was Tommy who pulled the trigger.
Kemp also said the decision for Angela’s fate to remain ambiguous between seasons five and six wasn’t intentional.
The death had already been filmed but the decision was then made to feature it in season six and leave things on a cliffhanger.

She said: “We shot a death in [the finale]. But then I realized that it was two separate events.
“Her getting shot was an event, and her dying was an event. And if you could separate them, then you could get more story out of it, but also you could honor Angela’s death in the right way with more time. Because it affects more than just Ghost. It affects everybody.”
With Kanan Stark (50 Cent) getting killed in the penultimate episode of season five, Kemp felt it wouldn’t give the audience “enough time to process” Angela’s death hence the delay.
“Paz tells her to save herself and she chooses to try to save everyone so she can preserve her fairytale ending,” Kemp stated.

Kemp said she told actress Lela Loren ahead of time about Angela’s death before any of the scripts were sent out.
Loren was told face-to-face with Kemp saying she wanted to do it in a sensitive and respectful way.
She said: “When you tell people their character is going to die, you always have to keep in mind that they are losing a job, too. So you need to treat people with respect.”
Loren has also opened up about Angela's death. The star has now been confirmed to joining Netflix sci-fi series Altered Carbon.
Power season 6 airs on Starz in the US on Sundays and Netflix UK on Mondays
