As we all continue to work from home for the foreseeable future, there's an ever-growing reliance on speedy home broadband connections. Sadly, as , the UK's internet speeds are still lagging way behind the rest of the world, with Brits seeing average speeds of under 40Mbps. At that rate, it takes over 10 minutes to download a full HD Hollywood blockbuster.

Fortunately, a new -powered laptop from could solve the headache of having poor broadband and help to supercharge your speeds for work, video conferencing, movie downloads and more. That's because the all-new Galaxy Book Flex is not only powered by the latest and greatest , but also benefits from full access to speedy 5G data speeds.

If you're unaware, 5G is the next-generation of mobile data signal and offers download speeds in excess of 300Mbps – that's around five times faster than the UK average broadband cable running into homes!

This new technology is slowly rolling out across the whole of the UK and could ensure we're all much less reliant on fixed-line broadband. And that's probably a good thing as 5G roll-out looks set to happen much faster than digging up broadband cables and new full-fibre infrastructure nationwide.

EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three have all made big commitments to 5G, which is expected to arrive in more parts of the UK over the coming months and years.

Having a laptop that can switch between broadband and 5G could be incredibly useful especially if our home working continues in the future. Alongside its fast mobile connection, the new Galaxy Book Flex gets a clever design which allows the screen to flip over making it feel more like a tablet.

There's also an S Pen stylus tucked inside the body which pops out and allows users to scribble on the 13.3-inch FHB touch screen without needing to use their finger. And, for the first time ever, Samsung introduces a 13MP world-facing camera to its laptop line. That means the Galaxy Book Flex 5G lets you quickly and easily take snapshots of notes, recipes and whatever else you need to record – just like a smartphone.

Other extras include a fingerprint scanner for unlocking the laptop without the need for a password and there's speakers powered by AKG. As we mentioned earlier, Samsung has included the new 11th generation Intel Core processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics which not only improves performance but also battery life.

Speaking about the new laptop Mincheol Lee, Corporate VP and Head of New Computing Biz Group at Samsung Electronics, said: “Across the world, we’re being asked to adapt and change constantly, and it’s vital we have devices that move with us. Thanks to our close collaboration with Intel, Galaxy Book Flex 5G provides users with a powerful performance, next-generation connectivity, effortless productivity and premium entertainment features, all in the form function of their choosing.”

There's no word on a UK release or price just yet, but expect Samsung to reveal more details in the coming weeks and months.
