HOW TO GROW
Sowing: Direct sow in spring; this Pumila Zinnia seed germinates best in warm soil. Plant just below the surface and keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which usually occurs within 7-10 days. Seedlings do not transplant well.
Growing: Water seedlings regularly until they become established, but do not over water. Though they flourish with occasional watering in dry weather, mature plants tolerate some drought. This plant grows best in rich soil, and may need light fertilization for best blooming. Pinch off the growing stems to encourage bushiness, and deadhead to prolong blooming. This plant attracts butterflies and bees.
Harvesting: For cut flowers, choose stems with flowers that have just opened. Strip the foliage that will fall below the water level, and place in water immediately.
Seed Saving: After their petals drop off, the centers of the flowers will darken and develop tight clusters of seed at the base. As soon as the seed heads have turned dark brown, remove them and spread them out to dry for several days. Thresh the dried heads to separate the small, arrow-shaped seeds from the chaff. Store the cleaned Pumila Zinnia seed in a cool, dry place.

The best of the best
The seeds that I have received from Everwilde are the best I've ever purchased. First, the foil packaging is not only beautiful, it keeps moisture from the seeds. The instructions are succinct, but thorough. The illustrated instrunctions are the same. A photo of the plant is on every package I've received. My only critique (as a graphic designer) is that yellow-colored type is one of the hardest to read. All caps is also harder to read than traditional upper/lower case usage. This critiques are trivial compared with the outstanding packaging. Finally, I love the Bible verse on the package. I haven't used the seeds yet, so I can't speak about them. But the care in creating outstanding packaging leads me to believe the seeds will be remarkable too. I highly recommend this company that seems to be the cream of the crop in plant seeds.
Happy gardener
I ordered Pumila Zinnia seeds last year for planting this past spring and I am extremely pleased with them. They put a lot of color in my garden and are very quick growers.... I ordered more for next year!
High germination
I planted these last year and love them. I had high germination rates.
Beautiful, easy to grow flower
I grew these in Western PA 6b. I've historically not been one to grow flowers, but these changed my mind. They're easy to grow and bloom until the last frost. I didn't start them indoors - I just scattered the seeds, and they grew wonderfully. They are an excellent variety for saving seed. I will continue to grow these forever :D
First purchase from Everwilde
Ordered 1/4 lbs Zinnia assorted seeds. Easy to fill out order on iPhone even for old guy. Seeds arrived fast. Great prices. Wouldn't hesitate to order again.
butterfly magnet
I had purchased these last year, but am expanding my butterfly garden. I was so happy with them that I am purchasing them again! I raise Eastern Black Swallowtails and monarchs from eggs. They loved these zinnias. There were always butters on them. SOOO rewarding! Love my butters!
