He was going to kill her at any moment. And she totally deserved it.
Julia expected Roman was going to shoot her at any moment. Maybe he won’t use a gun, but a knife. Maybe he’ll torture her instead. Maybe he’ll rape her and beat her before he finally killed her.
The possibilities of destroying her life were endless and Julia Lewis knew what was up.
As she stood under the pouring water, she faced the bathroom door. She wanted to see him when he finally killed her. She wanted to see the anger in his eyes. She wanted him to remember the defiance within hers as he pulled the trigger.
He didn’t show up. She wondered if he was going to. Julia knew what she did was horrible. Horrible? Horrible would be an accident she could’ve prevented. Horrible would be going under a celebrity’s page and trolling them.
No, what Julia did was deadly. Once Santiago told who shot him, she was a dead woman guaranteed. Women don’t get involved in crime rings. That was a given. No woman has lasted and no woman would ever channel her inner Griselda Blanco.
Now Julia was a dead woman walking. If they – meaning anyone Santiago trusted enough to put a hit out on her – wanted her dead, she would be within an instant. Or worse, because she was Rodney’s daughter, they would torture her, possibly rape and beat her, make her suffer excruciating pain, before finally killing her.
On second thought, Julia was better off committing suicide.
Just when she was about to entertain those horrible thoughts, she saw the bathroom door open. Through the steam, she could make out Romeo’s figure. She couldn’t tell if he was holding an object, but she wasn’t going to fight him. Whatever he was going to kill her with, she deserved.
He slowly opened the door, revealing a nude body. His brown eyes were full of concern. His overall face frowned from the top of his forehead to the small quiver of his bottom lip.
He was just as scared as she was.
Julia stepped back from Roman and her body naturally shook from the loss of heat. At least that’s what she told herself. He was going to kill her with his bare hands and possibly make it seem accidental. Everyone would believe him.
She swallowed the lump in her throat and watched him step under the showerhead and rinse himself off. His back faced her and it wasn’t lost on Julia Romeo intentionally did that. If she wanted to kill him, he allowed it. Dare she thought, he encouraged it.
After a short while, Roman turned around and faced his love. She was backed away in a corner, yet she didn’t look frigid or scared. She had a defiant look in her eyes as if she waited on him to make a move, any move.
They were at a stalemate.
He finally walked towards her and pinned her against the wall. He caressed her face and forcibly grabbed her
