Castleknock Village is closed this evening following a fatal crash that killed a cyclist, 50s. The man was struck by a lorry at the junction of College Road and Castleknock Village this afternoon.
A Garda spokesperson said: "The pedal cyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was fatally injured. No other injuries were reported.
"The body of the man has been removed from the scene to the Mortuary in Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination to take place. Castleknock Village is currently closed as a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators is taking place. Local diversions are in place.
"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."

Cyclist, 50s, dead after being struck by lorry in Dublin
A man has died after being struck by a lorry in Dublin.
The fatal incident happened at the junction of College Road and Castleknock Road at 4.30pm today. The collision involved a lorry and a pedal cyclist. The pedal cyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was fatally injured. No other injuries were reported.
The body of the man has been removed from the scene to the Mortuary in Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination to take place. Gardai at scene of crash
Gardai are at the scene of a crash at the junction of Castleknock Road and College Road. Castleknock Road will be closed between Auburn Avenue and Beechpark Avenue for some time, following a serious incident. College Road is closed between Castleknock Lodge and Castleknock Road. Delays of 20 minutes from Castleknock Gate.
There is a broken down car on Auburn Road. It's partly blocking the main lane approaching the roundabout.
M50 breakdown cleared
All lanes are now open on the M50 southbound, as the broken down car at J3 (M1) has been safely recovered. Traffic remains heavy in the area.
