Timothee Chalamet unrecognisable as he wears wrestling mask to Dune premiere

Hollywood actor Timothee Chalamet made a wild red carpet outfit choice after deciding to obscure his face at the Dune: Part Two premiere ahead of the film's March release

Timothee Chalamet surprised his Mexican fans by sporting a gold luchador mask at the premiere of Dune: Part Two.

The 28-year-old actor attended the star-studded event alongside co-stars Zendaya and Florence Pugh, where he was spotted wearing a gold mask over his head with a black strip over his eyes. Chalamet’s head was completely covered and fans could barely see his mouth and eyes through the holes.

In a resurfaced 2020 interview, Chalamet admitted that he was a “massive WWE fan” as a child, which might shed some light on why he donned the metallic mask for the premiere which took place at The National Auditorium in Mexico City.

Dune: Part Two is the long awaited sequel to the 2021 film, which saw Zendaya and Timothee share an on-screen kiss. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the stars confessed that the romantic moment felt awkward because they are such good pals in real life.

Zendaya admitted: “It’s definitely strange. I think both of us are just like: ‘All right, this is our job. Ok. We’re going to do this,” before Timothee chimed in: “In the scope of the movie, it’s totally what is happening but I also feel like we are so tight now that it really is just like another day at work. I don’t know what that says about the nature of our jobs, but it’s just another day at work.”

Away from the silver screen, Zendaya is dating Spider-Man actor Tom Holland and Timothee has a highly publicised relationship with reality star and influencer Kylie Jenner. Dune: Part Two is set to be released on March 1 and sees the actor return to his role as Paul Atreides, the heir to House Atreides and the protagonist of the science fiction film.

Zendaya was introduced toward the end of the 2021 instalment and stars as his love interest and member of the Fremen tribe, a clan of people who have become adjusted to living in the desert and the harsh conditions the climate entails.
