Luana Garden Villas in Gorgeous Maui, Hawaii

A little over 23 years ago, I got married and honeymooned in Maui, Hawaii. It was seven blissful days of sipping that rich Hawaiian coffee on my balcony, staring out at gorgeous mountain ranges (something I didn’t see much in my hometown of Miami Beach), surfing, biking down Mt. Haleakala, luaus, whale watching and lots of mai tais. In other words, seven days of heaven.
So when I heard about a new development of luxury villas being built in Maui, not more than 10 minutes from where Jackie and I stayed on our honeymoon, I couldn’t wait to learn more. Read on for details.
Your Own Hawaiian Villa
Luana Garden Villas will be a development of 72 two-story private villa residences that combine everything special about Maui in one unmatched location. This rare collection of garden villas is set amid exotic landscaping, with the clear waters of Kaanapali Beach just steps away.
Luana is the only new whole-ownership opportunity planned for West Maui. It is part of Honua Kai Resort & Spa, a master planned development that began in 2005. The villas are the last phase of the development, and owners will have access to all of the amenities of the resort.
Intimate Enclaves
Each Luana Garden villa will be nestled within one of three enclaves, featuring distinct landscaping, an intimate swimming pool and hot tub with lava rock water features.
Additionally, villa owners will have access to all the amenities and services at the Honua Kai Resort & Spa, including concierge, six swimming pools, full-service spa, fitness center, gourmet market, restaurant, general store and more.
Villa Features & Furnishings
Luana Garden Villas will be spacious homes with large lanais, outdoor kitchens and entertaining areas.
They will be delivered fully furnished and equipped with everything to make your home move-in ready.
The villas come with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. They offer over 2,000 square feet of interior living space plus a 500 square foot lanai thoughtfully designed with:
- Open-concept interior living space
- Sliding doors that open wide to lanais and garden spaces
- Gourmet kitchen featuring Bosch stainless steel appliances
- Tile flooring throughout living spaces and carpet in bedrooms
- Laundry room featuring full sized washer and vented dryer
- Tastefully selected artwork highlighting the beauty of Maui
Residents will be able to access their generous lanai through a spectacular sliding window wall system for true indoor-outdoor living. An exquisite open-air space with barbecue, under-counter refrigerator, and sink makes it easy to entertain outdoors.
Contemporary Features
Construction on the 72 villas is scheduled to start in just a few months. They will be built in phases.
The first enclave should be completed by summer 2019, with the second phase following in about 4-5 months, followed by the final phase sometime in 2020.
Pricing & Reservation Process
Hawaiian real estate doesn’t come cheap. There’s a price to be paid for living in paradise. The villas of Luana Garden range from $1,800,000 to $2,400,000.
At this point, buyers are only being asked to provide an “expression of interest” with no money required to “hold a place in line.” We’ll be getting more details on how sales will work in the coming weeks.

More Maui
As I mentioned at the beginning of this write-up, my wife and I loved our honeymoon in Maui, which is why when Jackie suggested we go back for our 25th anniversary, I immediately said “Yes!”
