Tri-C Western campus elects Hoover: Student government elections at the Western Campus of Cuyahoga Community College brought a new slate of leaders for 2019-2020 including Macon Hoover of Brunswick who was elected a senator at large.
Student Government gives students a voice on campus while providing an opportunity to receive and review concerns. The elected students gain leadership experience and a growing understanding of civic roles and responsibilities.
From the Symposium at University of Findlay: Kelley Cejer, of Medina recently participated in the University of Findlay's 2019 Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity. Cejer presented "Anticholinergic Burden and its Correlation to Falls in Nursing Homes." Matthew Buchfellner of Brunswick performed with the Jazz Ensemble. Kimberly Sprungl of Hinckley was named to The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 310. Murphy Vance of Brunswick was named as a Kappa Delta Pi New Initiate. Jessica Yonkers of Brunswick presented "Emergency Medical Workers' Stigmatizing Attitudes Towards Bariatric Patients."
Hudson to pursue master’s degree: Amy Hudson or Brunswick, a senior at Bob Jones University pursuing a Bachelors of Criminal Justice degree, was accepted into the Master’s degree program in Human Services Counseling in Executive Leadership at Liberty University.

Emily Ina of Brunswick was recognized with the The Dorothy J. Davis Scholarship awarded in honor of the University's former director of alumni activities.
Elizabeth Jones of Medina, OH was recognized with the The Good Citizenship Prize, which is presented each year to a graduating senior for overall excellence in qualities of personality and leadership, contributing to community welfare and national progress.
William Beebe of Medina was recognized with the The Krahling Journalism Award. This prize is awarded to a freshman, sophomore, or junior student who has demonstrated excellence in providing service to student media and who shows promise of having a successful career in the field.
Ludwick earns OAC honor: Baldwin Wallace University sophomore shortstop Alex Ludwick of Brunswick, a graduate of Padua Franciscan High School, has earned Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the first time in his career.
Ludwick led the Yellow Jackets to three OAC victories in the past week, hitting safely 11 times with one double and one triple, for a .478 batting average. The sophomore plated seven runs and scored six of his own. For his career, Ludwick has 108 hits, with 22 doubles, 11 triples, two homeruns, and 65 runs batted-in. The shortstop owns a batting average of .332, slugging percentage of .486, and has stolen 20 bases. In the field he has accumulated 242 assists, 119 putouts, and owns a .950 fielding percentage.
