Jan 17, 2020 · His doctor recommended Vasque hiking boots in Summit and Eriksson. Both are discontinued. They have a stiff shank/plate in the sole so not to bend your foot too much to spark any painful flare ups. Anyone know of any other hiking shoes (not necessarily boots) that may have this stiff shank/plate in the sole? The clock is ticking! Thanks.

May 7, 2018 · I've spent more than 20 years mostly trail running in Salomon XA Pro 3D trail running shoes. I am now thinking about getting a real hiking boot/shoe for use on the AT for a section hike. The feature I'm most interested in is under foot protection. Next I'm looking for non-goretex so they "dry" quick.

Particularly I am curious about how their boots hold up, warranty info, and is the company hiker friendly when it comes to dealing with them beyond the initial purchase. Oct 23, 2013 · It has been several years ago, but I had a pair of Vasque Sundowners that the soles were worn out. I purchased a new pair from my local outdoor store and asked them to send the old pair back to Vasque for reconditioning. Now for an additional cost of $75.00 I have two pairs of Vasque as winter boots or as backups.

Feb 19, 2012 · I have never owned Vasque or Asolo both are popular choices, but if you returned a pair of Vasque because you were afraid of low quality I would be concerned that low quality is a standard in thier other shoes as well. And generally I hear more good things about Asolo from the people I hike with.

Nov 18, 2021 · Injection molded soles, full Nubuk leather uppers, seam sealing and SnoSeal as needed hiking shoes work well. Alas, they are hard to find. I managed to get my hands on 3 pair of Merrell Radius Hiking shoes as they were being discontinued. I alternate the Radius with Ultra Raptors. Zero Gore-Tex on my feet. Wayne

Mar 13, 2008 · Hi Ladies, I'm trying to make a decision about new hiking boots. I want to order the Vasque Wasatch GTX women's boot at REI. It says they are midweight for light to moderate backpacking loads...short to moderate trips. I will probably have a 25-30 lb. pack weight and be out for a week at a time. What is your opinion?

Jan 30, 2020 · The best so far was a mix of solvent and bees wax which got accidentially sprayed-on to my shoes while working on a plant spraying this stuff onto floor tiles. Those leather shoes got amazingly waterproof and durable. I still own a pot full of this stuff and wipe my boots every now and then, and it still works.
