Nov 7, 2020 · BW/B2W2 are the best Pokemon games ever made for a variety of reasons, and Elesa (and the other gym leaders) are one of them. Just quietly, I am thirsting very hard for either a remake of BW/B2W2 or a re-release pack that brings them to Switch. Particularly 2, they deserve to be appreciated by a wider audience.

Aug 6, 2020 · Black 2/White 2. The speed in Gen 4 is slow all around, HGSS included. Not as bad as Diamond/Pearl, but still there. If you already played Diamond, it's probably more worth your time to move on to Black 2/White 2, which is a sequel to Black/White, and thus is a new game.

Personally, Platinum feels like it best recaptures Gen I and its weird world and mysteries. It takes the feeling of surfing to Cinnabar Island and finding the burnt mansion and spreads that over the entire game.

May 14, 2021 · I also argue against a "shallow forgettable cast". Hop is the best written rival of the series (a rival doesn't have to be an asshole to be a well written character). I often see this complaint and people heralding like Gen 1 and 2 Gym Leaders as better written, when they were barely used. It's typically just nostalgia over older characters.
