THANU THE MAN!

Kalaipuli Thanu is more of a tag to a film’s repute than just a name. His films stand out from other releases, be it  in their looks or their promotions. Known for collaborating with great minds to churn out sensible blockbuster films, Thanu has a peculiar knack to take up films and make it a winner.

 

Thanu has also composed music apart from directing a Vijayakanth starrer titled Puthu Padagan in the year 1990. The interesting trivia about this multitalented man is, he has made big-budgeted films with all the top 6 current heroes of Tamil cinema. They are Kandukonden Kandukonden with Ajith, Aalavandhan with Kamal Haasan, Kaakha Kaakha with Suriya, Kanthaswamy with Vikram and Sachien, Thuppaki and Vijay59 with Vijay while the currently under production Kabali of Superstar is also a Thanu funded project.

 

Very few money spinners have the capacity and audacity to take such Himalayan risks and calculations to float a star-studded film and also have it released and reap great profits. Also doubling up the responsibility of being Producer Council’s President, Thanu is having the busiest time of his life simultaneously producing an Ilayathalapathy film and a Superstar Rajinikanth film.  

 

We wish the film personality all the very best for his other projects Indrajith directed by his son Kala Prabhu and also the untitled Vikram film directed by Anand Shankar.   

 

Above all, it was Kalaipuli S. Thanu who gave the title ‘Superstar’ to Thalaivar Rajinikanth.
