Otley fire station will stay open after plans for a new station at Menston were abandoned
Two West Yorkshire fire stations earmarked for closure have been saved, after the fire service decided against building a new "super-station".
Otley and Rawdon fire stations will stay open after plans for a new station at Menston were abandoned because a suitable site could not be found.
The latest plans also mean that there will be no job losses at Otley.
The West Yorkshire Fire Authority approved the closure of 10 fire stations in the area in 2011.
Steve Beckley, deputy chief fire officer, said: "We have had significant difficulties identifying an appropriate site for a new fire station in the Menston area.
"I'm sure that people who live in the locality of Otley and Rawdon will be pleased by this decision and we look forward to investing in these stations to ensure they remain fit for purpose for the future."
Building work is already under way on five new stations at South Kirkby, Rothwell, Rastrick, Killingbeck and Carlton Road, Dewsbury.
