Toilet in Wonderland is a surreal exploration game made in RPG Maker 2000. It's a parody of Alice in Wonderland, where instead of the world being created by the protagonist's imagination, it is created by the protagonist, Mira's, constipation.

Equal parts strange and compelling, "Toilet in Wonderland" is a retelling of the classic "Alice in Wonderland" story. All of the prominent psychedelic influences are replaced with themes of constipation and needing to find laxatives and toilets. On the surface, this would be one of the most juvenile games I've ever experienced, and for some parts, it is. In reality, this game is a vehicle for incredibly surreal moments that more than make up for its ridiculous premise.
The bulk of the game has you exploring to find six different toilets to relieve your constipation. The gameplay is pretty limited with only a few instances where you need to outrun enemies or use a specific action in an area. For the most part, your are just tasked with exploring your surroundings and bearing witness to all of the insanity the game throws at you. One minute your walking in a dreamlike plains area where random pictures of real life deities are scattered about then next you will be outwitting a giant Salmon. The major strength of this game is that you have no idea what is going to happen next which makes it super compelling to keep playing. While I never really laughed while playing this game, there were plenty of little moments that made me smile and admire its zaniness.
This game is another reminder that RPG Maker games are a treasure trove for creative artistic expression and some insane gaming moments.
