Head of Business Services and Assurance – Merseyside PCC

Salary: - £45,147 - £52,491

The Chief Executive of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside is seeking to recruit a new Head of Business Services and Assurance.

The successful candidate will lead the provision of a comprehensive and flexible assurance service and business operation for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside.

In this role you will support the Police and Crime Commissioner and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner enabling them to carry out a full range of their statutory functions, including holding the Chief Constable to account in their provision of an effective and efficient police service to the communities of Merseyside.

We expect you to have experience of managing business operations function on a daily basis including understanding of Scrutiny and Performance, Casework, Misconduct Hearings, Complaint Reviews, Research, Volunteer and Victims Coordination and Secretarial functions to ensure that local and national policy is adhered to, and changes are effective in support of OPCC.

Extensive knowledge of the operations of a public sector organization, delivery of statutory functions and legislation that sits behind this is required, as is experience of building partnerships and working with others at a strategic and operational level.

Principal Legal Officer - Cumbria OPFCC

Salary: £55,199 - £57,362 (pro rata)

Contract: Permanent, full or part time

Location: Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Carleton Hall, Penrith

Reporting to the Chief Executive of the OPFCC and the Chief Principal Officer of CFRS, this influential role is an exciting and varied opportunity for a senior legal professional. The post holder will ensure the Fire and Rescue Authority, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, and the OPFCC all receive the expert legal advice and support that they require to act lawfully and fulfil their statutory obligations.

Cumbria OPFCC are seeking to appoint a high calibre individual with a proven record of working at a senior strategic level. You must have experience of effectively working across professional and organisational boundaries and in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be responsible for working with the Legal Services team (provided by Cumbria Constabulary) to ensure that the OPFCC receives the advice and support on relevant legal matters.

Policy Officer - West Midlands OPCC

Salary: £42,897 – £48,894

Contract: Permanent

Location: Office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, Lloyd House, Birmingham City Centre. Hybrid working with the expectation to attend Lloyd House, Birmingham, B4 6NQ 2 days a week

This is an opportunity for a smart individual with experience in the field of policy and research. You should have excellent experience of working in collaboration to influence and develop effective and innovative projects. You will be effective at working across a range of multi-disciplinary organisations as well as having the ability to take forward specific policy areas working in the Policing and Prevention Policy team.  

You need to be able to work as part of a team delivering the West Midlands Police and Crime Plan as well as on your own initiative, be able to undertake research, support & develop projects and initiatives which may cover a range of issues, and produce high quality briefings and reports which will contribute to the delivery of the Commissioners key priorities. You will need to demonstrate creative thinking, initiative and strategic awareness in the way you analyse issues and problem solve. You should have excellent communication and presentation skills and be comfortable articulating yourself in a range of forums to a range of stakeholders. This role provides a great opportunity to lead on numerous critical agendas for the whole of the West Midlands.

Accountancy Assistant - West Midlands OPCC

Salary: £27,747 – £31,296

Contract: Part Time, Permanent (28 hours per week)

Location: Office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, Lloyd House, Birmingham City Centre. Hybrid working with the expectation to attend Lloyd House, Birmingham, B4 6NQ 2 days a week.

The Office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner is looking for a capable Accountancy Assistant to work on supporting our own spending. You should have experience providing administrative and finance support within an office environment. You will be responsible for a variety of activities relating to transaction processing and month and year end reporting. Including; preparing journals and reconciliations, data checking, correcting and basic analysis, and monitoring the accounts payable function. In return you will be part of a small high performing organisation with development opportunities to suit your role. You will be expected to have the ability to work on your own initiative, be a pro-active self-starter and be flexible in your response to changing commitments and deadlines.
