Z/X Code reunion Anime Reveals Cast, Promo Video

An event for the Z/X game franchise on June 16 announced the cast and opening theme information, and also revealed a promotional video for the planned anime based on the Z/X Code reunion manga.

Yui Ogura is performing the show's opening theme song. Noriyasu Agematsu from Elements Garden is composing the song.
Yoshifumi Sueda (Rail Wars!, High School DxD Hero) is directing the anime at Passione, while Tatsuhiko Urahata (Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers, Tsuredure Children, Saki) is in charge of the series scripts. Seres is designing the characters based on Takuya Fujima's original designs. The anime will premiere this fall.
Urahata is working alongside artist Takuya Fujima (Weiß Survive, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid) on the original Z/X Code reunion manga, which launched in Shueisha's V Jump magazine in September 2017. The manga went on an indefinite hiatus last June due to one of the authors' sudden illness.
The event on June 16 also revealed a promotional video for a new app in the franchise titled Z/X Code OverBoost.
The story of the original game is set in the not-so-distant future. Five "Black Points" suddenly appeared around the world as portals to parallel worlds. Immediately after, strange creatures began their invasion from these portals. These creatures are the inhabitants of five worlds — the same worlds in different timeframes. In order to ensure their own future timeframe survives, each of the five invasion forces battle to wipe the other future timeframes out. The key is one card-shaped device.
The Z/X Zillions of enemy X game already inspired a television anime in 2014. (Z/X is pronounced as Zex.) The game advertises itself as the "first free" trading card game system since a free deck is offered at meets held by card shops and events. PDF files are even posted online so people can print them out themselves. The card game has also inspired a PlayStation 3 game, a PC browser game, and a previous manga series in Shueisha's V Jump magazine. Crunchyroll streamed the first anime as it aired in Japan.
