Gundam Extreme VS-Force Revealed for PS Vita This Winter
posted on by Egan Loo
Bandai Namco Entertainment announced its Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS-Force game during the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia press conference on Tuesday. The latest game in the long-running Mobile Suit Gundam VS. franchise will debut on PS Vita this winter.
The video teases mobile suits and other mecha that will be available for the first time in any portable or console title in the franchise. In addition to the familiar 2 vs. 2 gameplay seen in previous entries, the new game lets players form their own original unit from six mobile suits. For the first time in the franchise, there will be three MS units and warships with up to seven MSs in a battle. Two players can battle each other via PS Vita's ad-hoc multi-player function.
Finally, the video reveals that the game's playable roster will include Gundam Barbatos from the latest Gundam television anime, this fall's Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.
Bandai Namco Entertainment has been releasing games in the franchise since 2001. It has been four years since the Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. game on the PlayStation 3 in 2011. The most recent game, Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Maxi Boost, debuted in arcades in March 2014.
Bandai Namco Entertainment had filed a trademark for "Extreme VS-Force" in Japan on May 26.
