Pump Stopped Working after A Month?Too loud?

Regular Maintenance Can Extend the Service Life of The Pump.

Clean the debris frequently around the pump. A clogged or dirty intake screen will block the water pump and make it fail to function properly or become noisy.

To Clean the Pump:

Remove the front cover, the impeller cover and the impeller unit. Use a small brush to clean the impeller or rinse off the internal debris with running water.

220-2

Adjustable Water Flow

A sliding knob on the side allows you to adjust the water flow rate from low to high, and the maximal flow rate can reach up to 400 GPH.

220-3

Secure for Daily Use

The 3-prong grounded plug can prevent electric shock. And the 6 feet power cord can resist water, oil and high temperature to avoid accidental hurt.

220-4

Shockproof Suction Cups

The 4 shockproof rubber feet at bottom hold the pump steadily with minimal vibration. Greatly reduce noise to keep it quiet during operation.

We have a small fish pond with a bubbling rock in the centre. Our old pump died so we needed a replacement with enough power to send the water through to the big rock in the centre where the water gushes out the top and flows down to the pond. This seems to be doing a great job so far. We bought the filter bag to go around the pump to filter out debris. The cord should be longer. We had to plug it into an extension cord.

I was a little concerned when I first recieved the box as it's a Unicliffe brand rather than a Pawfly. Looks like exactly the same unit with the same features so wasn't a problem. It's actually a really good pump for the price; has good flow rate for its size, manages my 20 gal rdwc system easily, has good selection of barb sizes which are designed perfectly; they're fractionally smaller than typical barb sizes which is fantastic, it means you can pull the hoses on & off easily without having to cut the pipe off, yet no leaks! The volume of this thing is unbelievable, it's so silent you can't tell if it's running. And best of all this is the only pump this size I've found that can run inline with the hose so you don't have to sit it in the reservoir heating up the solution. Customer service were also very quick to respond when I couldn't figure out how to take the front off. Very well designed & thought out product, I'm tempted to buy myself a spare as I'll be gutted if they ever discontinue the product, it's just too perfect for a hydro system.

I have three of these models and so far, they are working well. I'm still using the first purchase (3-4 years old) with two as a spare for my garden water fountain. I suggest to clean it before storage and place in sealed container with distilled water over the winter season. Should be ready for spring again. :-)

little disappointed with this unit. Purchased it to transfer water from rain barrels into a larger holding tank. To do so required the pump to be used in an inline or "External" format. Unfortunately the impeller cover isn't held on with more than a prayer and an 1/8 of a rotation which frustratingly, is incredibly easy to unlatch by the natural tension and weight of 1inch vinyl tubing. Because its such a weak connection it's been taped together with electric tape to keep it attached to the pump body as well as stop the constant leaking before it was run the first time. Once it's all taped together it works well. It's not super fast but for this price point I'm not looking to fill a pool in an hour.
A word for those DYI'ers out there, this pump does not prime or create suction on an intake hose so if you are going to use it as inline pump you'll need some other way to prime the intake hose. As a submersible pump, works totally fine right out of the box. I wish my rain barrels had an opening large enough for this pump because it would be immensely easier however I would not recommend in it's current shape for inline pumping.

Update: The impeller cover eventually gave out causing a serious leak and the impeller disassembled itself shortly after. It threw a small pin and the black cap through the pump and into my holding tank. luckily the impeller is held with magnets but it does cause a lot more noise than before and less performance.

Comes with no instructions, so be prepared to figure it out for yourself. If you're using it as an inline pump, there's nothing keep the pressure control from rotating so far that the front plate holding the impeller in comes off, and everything falls apart. Adjusting the pressure setting doesn't seem to actually change the output very much. Might work better as a submerged pump but that's not how I'm using it. Overall I can't really complain too much - Small inline pumps are rare, and it is working, it just took more effort than I expected to get it to that point.
