The Olsen twins have always believed in doubling their fans’ beauty fun, stretching back to 2003 when they launched their first namesake fragrances: Mary-Kate and Ashley One and Two. Naturally, tweens went wild for the fruity-floral blends sold at Walmart. A decade later, the dynamic duo followed a similar model and launched two scents under their Elizabeth and James label dubbed simply Nirvana Black and Nirvana White—this time ditching the cutesy pink- and blue-tinted juices in favor of chic, textured bottles trimmed in gold. Those same tweens, now all grown-up and carrying credit cards, hit Sephora with similar fervor, buying the decidedly less saccharine Black (boasting sandalwood, vanilla, and violet notes for a more masculine bent) and White (an ultra-feminine mix of peony, muguet, and musk) until the pair achieved best-seller status.
Now, MK and A are at it again—and sure enough, it takes two to appease the masses eager to add to their Olsen arsenal: Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose and Nirvana Bourbon. Rolling out this month exclusive at Sehpora, Nirvana Rose (housed in a scarlet bottle) defies all grandma stereotypes and smells sophisticated, modern, and fresh with hints of geranium, rose de mai, and vetiver. And like the supple crocodile-skin backpacks the celebrity sisters peddled for a mere $55,000, Nirvana Bourbon (sold in a honey-colored glass flask) is nothing short of smooth. Sexy and smoky, with notes of oak and tuberose, this intoxicating oriental provides the same warm embrace as a worn-in leather chair at your classy neighborhood bar. While you’d be hard-pressed to find Mary-Kate and Ashley kicking back Cheers-style at a local dive, we imagine they aren’t above indulging in a stiff drink after a particularly rough day at the office. (See, celebrities really are just like us.) Cocktailed together, the bloom- and booze-centric blends produce a sweet yet sultry scent guaranteed to get you noticed...and maybe even score you your next round.
