Purina
From the beginning, Purina has steadfastly shown its commitment to canine health by supporting countless Foundation research and educational initiatives - generously supporting canine genome mapping, the Canine Caner Initiative, the Search and Rescue Dog Study, and other research studies, plus sponsoring the biennial National Parent Club Canine Health Conferences.
Purina has also led the way in developing creative funding concepts benefiting the AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF); from dog show benefits to the popular Parent Club Partnership (PPCP) Program. Above and beyond these important contributions, Purina and CHF have joined together in a multi-million alliance dedicated to the mission of the Foundation.
Walk of Champions and Path of Honor
In 2010, Purina opened the state of the art Purina Events Center in Gray Summit, Missouri. The Event Center hosts all-breed dog shows, national specialties, agility and obedience trials. The Walk of Champions and Path of Honor are brick walkways leading to the entrances of the world-class, multimillion-dollar indoor facility. Engraved bricks can be purchased on the Walk of Champions to honor any titled dog and on the Path of Honor to honor any person, pet, club or kennel.
Bricks are $100 each and $70 from each brick is a tax-deductible donation to the AKC Canine Health Foundation. Bricks can be purchased online or by calling the Foundation at 1-888-682-9696.
Purina Parent Club Partnership Program
Purina Pro Club members who elect to participate in the PPCP Program and designate a particular club, accrue points for their breed when they submit UPC codes from qualifying Purina brand dog foods. Points are accumulated all year and a check representing 10 percent of the value of the submitted UPC codes is evenly split between CHF and the parent club, where funds may be used at the club's discretion for canine health research, education or rescue.
The first step to participate in the Purina Parent Club Partnership Program is to become a member of the Purina Pro Club.
