Materials and Methods: This analytical cross-sectional study was carried out in 2014 on 90 nursing lecturers and students of the Mashhad Nursing and Midwifery Faculty, and 134 nurses and nursing managers of the educational hospitals of the Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. The participants were selected by the convenient sampling method using a research-oriented questionnaire (validity and reliability confirmed) to investigate the barriers to the implementation of the nursing process. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics (mean±SD, and absolute and relative frequencies), one-way ANOVA, and the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The most significant barrier to implementing the nursing process according to 90% of the lecturers was the lack of a checklist for recording the process in the medical records of the patients; according to 90% of the managers, it was the high number of patients under care of each nurse, and according to 90% of the nurses and 93.5% of the students, it was the lack of a principal training of the nursing process during their studentship. There was a significant difference in the views of the four groups (P=0.03). Conclusion: The health system authorities of the country should make changes in the clinical and educational areas, such as including a nursing process record sheet in the medical records of the patients, getting advice and assistance from the experts in the field of nursing education and technology, and facilitating the implementation of the nursing process in the clinical field.

Background: Application of nursing process helps the nurses to utilize critical thinking for decision making and care activities. There are many factors that interferes the implementation of the nursing process. The aim of study: to identify barriers in implementation of the nursing process from the standpoint of nurses in different settings of Main University hospital, Mansoura. Material & Methods: A descriptive design was used to conduct this study on 100 nurses worked at the pervious setting were included in the study. Two tools were utilized in The Present Study: nursing process questionnaire and factors affecting the application of nursing process. Results: The factors that affecting implementation of nursing process were lack of sufficient enthusiasm in using the nursing process, shortage of nursing staff, no format for writing, lack of follow up and monitoring, no adequate time for using, lack of attention to its importance, deficient in clear instruction, inadequate education, and have no believe in applying the patient care according to the nursing process. Conclusion: It is possible to recommend the hospitals to seek means to upgrade the knowledge of their nurses on the nursing process and utilizing nursing process which reflect the quality of patient care.
Nursing Process is a systematic method which utilizes scientific reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking to direct nurses in caring for patients effectively however, little is known about factors affecting the implementation of nursing process. The study intended to assess factors affecting implementation of nursing process among nurses in Arbaminch General Hospital, Ethiopia. Institutional based cross-sectional study with quantitative data collection through Self-administered pre-tested Semi Structured questionnaire and observational checklist used among randomly selected 105 nurses. Data analysis was done by SPSS version 15 for its objectives. Out of 105 studies 98 were participated in the study with 93.3% response rate. Forty two (42.85%) of the total respondents were working in a stressful working environmental. Thirty five (35.7%) of respondents were challenged to provide their nursing care due to patients inability to collect the required material for care provision. Factor affecting implementation of nursing process were working in a stressful environment were 0.23 times less likely to implement nursing process than those working in organized environment (OR: 0.23, [95% CI: (0.07-0.78)], highly knowledgeable nurses were 8.78 times more likely to implementation of nursing process than nurses who were not knowledgeable (OR: 8.78, [95%CI: (2.97- 77.48)] and economic status of patient to collect material for nursing care were negatively associated with implementation of nursing process(OR: 0.07, [95%CI: (0.02-0.31)]. The study has identified lack of facility from organizational factors, economic status of the patient to collect material for nursing care, early discharge, lack of cooperation and complicated problems from patient related factors and level of knowledge were among those factors highly affecting nursing process implementation. Nearly, one third of respondents have consistent with the implementation of nursing process in the clinical setting. This factors cause poor quality of nursing care disorganized caring system, conflicting role, medication error and re-admission with similar problems, dissatisfaction with the care patients have received, and increased mortality. Recommendation: The essence of nursing process for client lies on the great benefits to the client, nurses and nursing profession as a whole. So, to provide quality of nursing care the management body of the hospital should flow and supervise the implementation of nursing process in the hospital, the health professional should train periodically and Information should be disseminated regarding nursing process. Background: The nursing process is a systematic method of planning, delivering, and evaluating individualized care for clients in any state of health or illness. Many countries have adopted the nursing process as the standard of care to guide nursing practice; however, the problem is its implementation. If nurses fail to carry out the necessary nursing care through the nursing process; the effectiveness of patient progress may be compromised and can lead to preventable adverse events. This study was aimed to assess the implementation of nursing process and associated factors among nurses working in selected hospitals of central and northwest zones of Tigray, Ethiopia, 2015. Method: A cross sectional observational study design was utilized. Data was collected from 200 participants using structured self-administered questionnaire which was contextually adapted from standardized, reliable and validated measures. The data were entered using Epi Info version 7 and analyzed using SPSS version 20 software. Data were summarized and described using descriptive statistics and multivariate logistic regression was used to determine the relationship of independent and dependent variable. Then, finally, data were presented in tables, graphs, frequency percentage of different variables. Result: Seventy (35%) of participants have implemented nursing process. Different factors showed significant association. Nurses who worked in a stressful atmosphere of the workplace were 99% less likely to implement the nursing process than nurses who worked at a very good atmosphere. The nurses with an educational level of BSc. Degree were 6.972 times more likely to implement the nursing process than those who were diploma qualified. Nurses with no consistent material supply to use the nursing process were 95.1% less likely to implement the nursing process than nurses with consistent material supply. Conclusion: The majority of the participants were not implementing the nursing process properly. There are many factors that hinder them from applying the nursing process of which level of education, knowledge of nurses, skill of nurses, atmosphere of the work place, shortage of material supply to use the nursing process and high number of patient load were scientifically significant for the association test.

Background:-Nursing process is a systematic method of assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening and evaluating individualized care for clients in any state of health. Even if, its implementation is mandatory due to many factors, it is poorly implemented in most of the health institutions in the country and resulted loss of quality nursing care. Objective:-The aim of this study was to assess the implementation status of nursing process and its' associated factors among nurses in Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospitals. Method:-A cross-sectional study design was conducted from February to March 2017 with a total of 151 participants and 271 medical records were selected by using Simple random sampling method. The collected datachecked for accuracy, completeness and entered into epi-data version 3.1 and analyzed using SPSS version 22. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regressions were used to identify associated factors with nursing process implementation. Statistical significance interpreted using odds ratio with 95% CI & P value <0.05. Result:-A total of 151 respondents, mean age was 28.5 years and about 86 (57.6%) had implement nursing process. Working in medical ward unit [AOR=3.43, (1.01, 11. 5), surgical unit [AOR=9.59(2.21, 41.61), organized environment [AOR=4.44 (1.80, 10.95) and Good Knowledge [AOR=10.2, (3.05, 34.1) were significantly associated with the implementation of 271 medical card review 239 of the cards included nursing process registration form, amongthose 65 (24.6%) of them was found to include the nursing process and those staying in the hospital for 11-20 days and 21-30 days was [AOR= 1.8895 (1.01, 3.53) and AOR=2.84 (1.06, 7.5) were significantly associated with implementation of the nursing process. Conclusion and recommendation: In this studythe level of nursing Process implementation was suboptimal and it needs further intervention to increase its utilization. Those who had worked at medical and surgical unit, organized work environment, good knowledge and length of stay were identified as possible determinant factors for the implementation of nursing process. Health care authorities must help in promotion of the health care with employing sufficient nurses, educational training and providing necessary situations for nursing process.

Background: The nursing process is a framework for nursing care. It is a systematic and dynamic method that can be used in all health care environments. Objectives: We aimed to explore the factors that may influence the implementation of the nursing process by nursing students. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted through semi-structured face-to-face interviews. Fifteen nursing students were selected by purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria include sixth to eighth-semester nursing students who have experience of using the nursing process in clinical wards., The Graneheim and Lundman content analysis method was used to analyze the qualitative data. Results: After analyzing the data, we created three main categories (awareness of the nursing process, individual-managerial factors, and the reflection of the nursing process). Conclusions: Factors that influence the implementation of the nursing process by nursing students are varied. Therefore, nurse educators should remove barriers and provide facilities to promote the nursing process's implementation.

Background: Nursing Process is a systematic problem-solving approach used to identify, prevent and treat actual or potential health problems and promote wellness. It has five steps-assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Objective: To assess factors affecting implementation of nursing process among nurses in selected governmental hospitals from February-April, 2011 at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Method: A cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted on selected governmental hospitals in Addis Ababa. Purposive sampling was used for selection of hospitals. Black Lion, St. Paul, Ras Desta Damitew Memorial, and Yekatit 12 hospitals were convenient for the study. The sample size was 202. Data was analyzed using SPSS 16th version. Result: Nurses working in a stressful working environment were 2.8 (adjusted OR: 0.357, 95%CI: (0.157-0.814)) times less likely to implement nursing process than disorganized working environment adjusting for facility accessibility, knowledge, and sex. Forty eight (25%) of respondents were anxious from high patient flow. Among those 15(31.3%), 22(45.8%), and 11(22.9%) have committed knowledge, executive, and slip/slap error respectively. Highly knowledgeable respondents were 38.913 (Adjusted OR: 38.913, 95%CI: (10.3-147.006) times more likely to implement nursing process than low knowledge group nurses adjusted for working environment, facility, and sex. Conclusion: The study has identified organizational factors, patient related factors, and level of knowledge and skill were among those factors highly influenced nursing process implementation. This factors cause poor quality of nursing care, disorganized caring system, conflicting role, medication error and readmission with similar problem, dissatisfaction with the care patients have received, and increased mortality.
